1. I hope their wives are notified before they see this!
One soldier is very clearly wearing a wedding ring. Each picture is someone's son, someone's loved one. Each day, I hate this administration more and more.

2. Welcome to Colin Powell's nightmare
He thought he could fight a war remotely, hygienically, without bloodshed. The thing that scares him the most is those body bags a-comin' home. You would think a seasoned soldier like Powell would know better. Ah, their hubris will do it to them every time. It is like watching some bizarre gotterdammerung, or a Greek tragedy.

Families are going to want answers. Funny how the senseless death of our youth tends to piss us off <irony on>.

3. Yep, they even showed a local funeral on our local news this week.....
and did a big story on what a great guy this fallen soldier was...interviewing weeping relatives and friends. He was like 21 or something..........

showed the coffin with the flag on it and everything.......

20. I sure haven't heard of any. You'd see the footage, believe me!
And let's all remember how, somewhere back in time, he was telling people ever so piously that - he took this war and commander-in-chief stuff very seriously because he was the one who was going to have to hug all the widows.

Yeah, right.

The one funeral I saw, of Branden Oberleitner, the poor mother's face was so red and swolen (probably from crying nonstop since she first got the word) and she was hunched over that nice folded flag they'd just handed her from her son's coffin. The camera zoomed in a little so you could see her face in profile. It was sickeningly sad. As I recall it, writing this now, I am starting to choke up.

I, too, hate this administration more and more with each passing day. With each passing hour. At least they didn't have to get their little hands dirty, though! How nice and tidy and convenient for them, 'eh?

The only way Powell is ever going to be able to redeem himself
is to pick a strategic moment sometime before the 2004 elections, and resign. If he does that, and goes on a massive sweep through the press with *'s malefactions, the election won't be as much of a brow-sweat-er. The only problem is that Powell has pretty much lost all credibility with anyone who cares about what is going on.

4. You're so right! Americans won't stomach this for long!!
As heart breaking as it is - if this is what it takes to sober up America to the true horrors of war - and that "supporting" the troops entails a little more than sticking a stupid little flag on your car and saying you support whatever ham sandwich happens to be occupying the oval office - then the damn thing is worthwhile, tasteless and offensive as it may well be.

6. These pictures break my heart
but they are necessary, IMHO, to break through the wall of indifference that seems to surround the majority of the people in this country.

How long before pictures like this are forbidden, just like pictures of the coffins being unloaded at Dover AFB are?

7. This weeks issue of Newsweek had pictures of every dead American
Since Bush* declared Victory. Eighty-eight total, took ten full pages with photos along the tops of each page. Newsweek was also very critical of Bush*'s handling of foreign affairs. A lot of people read Newsweek.

9. The press is revolting and I will bet the thugs are pissed!
They certainly do not want this type of thing going on. Pics of injured/deal soldiers...quotes about how demoralized they are.

Well I guess the Bush&Co press is over, at least for awhile and I couldn't be happier. We are finally getting the truth on TV.

I feel sorry for the families. How can they take it?

Support our troops - bring them home!

14. Seeing those dead boys makes me sick at my stomach.
I feel the same way when I see the Iraqi dead or the children of Iraq living in squalor.

In the face of wallowing in shame forour country, I can make no other choice but to renew the fight against this corrupt administration.

15. Once, We were great
We can be great again. Bush stands in our way to once again being a beacon of liberty and freedom, of being the guardian of enlightened governance.

Those that die in Iraq, die because they have sworn themselves to protect and serve this country, to respond to the President's orders with a "yes, sir" and to accomplish the tasks set before them to the best of their ability and skill. It is up to us to protect them from bad leadership. That is OUR duty. It is OUR duty to provide them with the very best leaders. We support our troops by giving them leadership they can be proud to follow, that will appreciate their sacrifices, and won't ask them to make sacrifices unless it furthers the good of America.

Bush is a bad, immoral leader. We owe it to our troops to do everything within our ability to make sure he is not elected in 2004.

24. This is an EXCELLENT point that should have been shouted from
the rooftops the first time the GOPs tried to say that criticism of Bush* was the same as not supporting the troops! I do hope this is repeated everywhere.

16. Check out the most popular photos (by rating) at Yahoo (news)
You will see that it is all pictures of the dead, wounded and destroyed vehicles. Make sure you vote to keep these important pictures front and center in the public's eye.

23. He doesn't look too god
His face is a mass of red and purple blotches, he's gaunt, his eye bags are huge, and his tie is wrinkled and poorly knotted. He could use a month of vacation :-) Or 20 years of vacation :-) :-)

25. Hello Chuck and Hillary
and all of our pro war dems. Voted for the war, but thought Bush planned for the peace? Thought we had to go to war? Thought we didn't have the time for inspections? I hope you can attend the funerals of the dead soldiers in your state. I'm sure you will find the time.
