LA Daily News: Bush home to be museum
Bush home to be museum
Associated Press
LA Daily News

10/12/05

A dilapidated little Bakersfield bungalow that briefly housed two future U.S. presidents named Bush more than a half-century ago will be turned into a museum.

"My hope is that kids will come here and say if two presidents lived right here in Bakersfield, maybe I can accomplish great things, too," said the home's owner, Republican political consultant Mark Abernathy, who also plans to build a children's reading center in the backyard.

George and Barbara Bush rented the two-bedroom, 950-square-foot white frame house on Monterey Street with their 3-year-old son, George W., while the elder Bush was working as an oil-field equipment salesman.

1. off topic. How many books will Bush's museum have? 1? my pet goat?
Since he does not read, write, or speak well, I don't see his library having any books.

5. Um...when you have "family money" behind you,
a temporary stint in a small house on a temporary job, does NOT qualify you for "bootstrap success".:puke:

Poppy's family was not Poor..Babs' family was not Poor..They lived in that small house because they wanted to..not because they HAD to:puke:

7. Wow, very impressive, they lived there all of 3 months and now it...
will be a museum no one will visit. It seems the push is on to make the American public believe g.w. bush came from humble beginnings. What a bunch of hogwash!!!!!

8. Another lie to propel the myth. THREE MONTHS????
Kern County officials approved the museum project last month. But some residents of the now heavily Latino neighborhood found it hard to believe that Presidents 41 and 43 lived there for three months in 1949.

Its just a lie. They are selling it as his "childhood home".

"My hope is that kids will come here and say if two presidents lived right here in Bakersfield, maybe I can accomplish great things, too," said the home's owner, Republican political consultant Mark Abernathy, who also plans to build a children's reading center in the backyard.

Bullshit. Its just so they can spread the "Bush is a common man" lie
