It's Not Nice to Fool (with) MotherNature
I know that weather and "natural occurrences" like earthquakes are nothing new, But HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A 12 MONTH PERIOD WITH SO many horrifying disasters...and how many millions of people have been affected? Earthquakes, fires, mudslides, floods, hurricanes, cyclones, freaky snow storms, melting ice caps (with rising sea levels)..tsunamis..etc.

It almost seems that we need an International conference regarding WHERE and HOW people live.

Seems to me that if people could be housed in safer places, the death tolls and damage would be greatly lessened.

Deforestation,re-routing of rivers, excessive damming of rivers, draining of wetlands, shoddy building techniques.. These are all HUMAN interventions, but Nature is relentless, and cares not that frail humans are in her path:(

The amount of money spent in re-building in the SAME places, in the SAME ways is staggering..

Imagine how much better used that money could be, than to re-line the pockets of for-profit contractors who swoop in after these events, only too eager to "do the work"..
