Should we be educating people about computers and the Internet?
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 11:15 PM by firefox
Let us say that the Internet is a valuable weapon/tool against the thoughtherding of the fascists and the controlled media. Should our strategy not be to get as many people online as possible and see that everyone has some basic knowledge.

I think of all the seniors at home or isolated in care facilities that could get the education of a lifetime and populate the corner's of the Internet with the heart of a patriot.

I have given two computers away to families and when I saw an old computer next to a newer computer at a seniors house, I thought what a waste it was sitting on the floor when I know another family of four that could join the national conversation WeThePeople are having online.

Shouldn't we think about going into the senior centers and put the word out to seniors that we will give some basic instructions on the use of computers and put out the word that we will help set up computers for seniors wanting to get online.

People are always asking what we can do. Shouldn't we see to it that at least the elderly get online and offer some basic instruction all in defense of our country?

I regret starting a thread I cannot attend, but I wanted to get it in before sleep since nobody else seems to want to suggest it.

1. it sounds like a good idea--but a lot of the seniors I know are already
quite internet savvy, and the ones that are not, are, for the most part, not exactly all there.
