In Monopoly Money

Okay I really didn't but you know that's a waste of good monopoly money.

Seriously what a freakin joke...is Bushco really that desperate?

If so a fun day might involve going door to door in rich freeper neighborhoods with a coffee can and see who is willing to "sacrifice" for Bush's war.

It's simple just say "Hey Bush said we have to sacrifice! he is YOUR president isn't he???"

Then take all the money and donate it to the VFW.

2. How much did that $600 last? About 10 seconds?
I found that story to be the funniest headline ever on DU.

3. No offense, but you are perpetuating a cliche
Take a coffee can around the Upper East Side in Manhattan, or in Sausalito north of San Francisco, or around Brentwood in L.A., or through Adams-Morgan in D.C., or through Palm Springs or Shaker Heights or Bloomfield Hills or...well, you get my point.

In every one of these high-income areas, you are going to find a lot more people against Bush and the war than in favor.

This stereotype of "rich freepers" ignores the fact that most freepers are not rich. If you don't believe me check this out:

http://people-press.org/reports/pdf/196.pdf

Page T-2 shows, just to cite one example, that more than 70% of conservative repugs have family income under $75,000.

More to the point, this excellent document shows how the American electorate feels about all the major issues (terrorism and WOT, fiscal restraint, social spending, religion and morality, etc.) all broken out by political party, socioeconomic group, geography, and so on.

Lots of cliche-busting information here.

As Sun-tzu said, know thy enemy. Just a thought...

Peace.

4. Okay let me revise then
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 11:34 PM by noahmijo
Here in Oro Valley it is 90% Republican, I live in the somewhere between the middle-upper class section (meaning the income level is around $70k or so)

The upper class section of this town is primarily Repubilcans and primarily own homes that easily break half a million or more and donate heavily to the local fundie churches which NONE of them do any sort of outreach work for the poor.

In my case "Rich Freepers" is a perfect fit.

You know what though you give me an even better idea.

Instead you could go around to poor areas that you know vote Republican and ask for donations and essentially say "hey look who cares if unlike Bush you struggle, Bush said YOU have to sacrifice MORE...as for him well he doesn't have to sacrifice because he's God's chosen leader, but see YOU on other hand you haven't sacrificed enough.

I trust you see the biting sarcasm here.

5. Now that I can buy
Of course, AZ was the home base of Goldwater, too. Oro Valley is like Ground Zero for the RW.

As I say, though, check out that report from Pew Research. It certainly helped me understand that the repugs are constituted differently from what many of us think. Knowledge is power.

Peace...and keep the faith. You need it out there. :-)

6. The fact that poor people vote repug makes me angrier
Rich repubs I can understand.

But poor people think it's THEIR money that Democrats are after just makes me both ill and makes me hate Repukes even more for duping them like that.

I still remember that waitress at Chili's probably some poor girl struggling to get through community college telling my friend and I that she thinks Kerry would raise her taxes that's why she voted for Bush.

Shameful...absolutely shameful....
