Robertson: Disasters point to 2nd Coming
Evangelist observes quakes, hurricanes 'starting to hit with amazing regularity'

Pat Robertson

This weekend's catastrophic earthquake in South Asia in the wake of recent U.S. hurricanes and December's tsunami is catching the eye of televangelist Pat Robertson, who says we "might be" in the End Times described in the Bible.

"These things are starting to hit with amazing regularity," Robertson said on CNN's "Late Edition."

Some New Testament verses often cited by Christians regarding signs of the end of this present age before the return of Jesus to Earth include:

# "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24 :7-8)

# "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;" (Luke 21:25).

Last month, Robertson suggested the assassination of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability," he said, but later backed away from the suggestion of assassination after an uproar of criticism.

Anybody who believes this bullshit needs to have a head exam. Religion is made up! It is a process to surpress the people.

Maybe Pat will quit asking everybody for money since very soon, he won't need it. He should probably buy a good hat because I hear the rapture will by very windy and dusty and stuff.

4. bush can stop pushing for Social Security *cough* reform
Tim LeHay or whatever his name is can donate all his profits from his Left Behind series to do some good for the unfortunate victims of these disasters, maybe he can assure himself a place in heaven, like perhaps his doors will have gold doorknobs as opposed to the pewter doorknobs that lesser beings such as myself may be given.

Many disasters are the result of humankind's actions or inactions. The rest are flukes of weather and overpopulation.

49. Boston Globe, 10/6/05: "Bush switches focus to overhauling tax code"
Apparently Bush thinks he's going to enslave and then obliterate the middle class with a "National Sales Tax" before the Second Coming:

Bush switches focus to overhauling tax code
Social Security effort shelved

By Ryan J. Donmoyer and Heidi Przybyla, Bloomberg | October 6, 2005

http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2... /

WASHINGTON -- The Bush administration is beginning to segue from its failed effort to overhaul Social Security to rewriting the tax code, an issue that is fraught with its own political challenges.

President Bush said Tuesday there is a ''diminished appetite" for changing the way Social Security is funded, the first time he's conceded congressional action is unlikely this year.

Four days ago the White House directed its tax advisory panel, headed by former senators Connie Mack and John Breaux, to recommend ways to revamp the tax code by Nov. 1, ending an indefinite delay in its work.

Changing the subject to overhauling the tax code gives the White House an opportunity to regain traction on its domestic agenda, analysts said.

"You know, I'm not exactly sure how big the national sales tax is going to have to be, but it's the kind of interesting idea that we ought to explore seriously," Bush said, according to a Reuters report.

Even more fun, we could say it's already come, and they've ALL been left behind!!

27. Here is the link to generate letters to your loved ones post "rapture"
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 05:49 PM by BeHereNow
For your convenience:
http://www.raptureletters.com /
"After the rapture, there will be a lot of speculation as to why millions of people have just disappeared. Unfortunately, after the rapture, only non believers will be left to come up with answers. You probably have family and friends that you have witnessed to and they just won't listen. After the rapture they probably will, but who will tell them?

We have written a computer program to do just that. It will send an Electronic Message (e-mail) to whomever you want after the rapture has taken place, and you and I have been taken to heaven."

Too bad no one has told the fundies that the rapture
isn't in the bible.
If they could actually read, maybe they would know...

61. The letter it sends is just too precious!
First it tells you that your friend/acquaintance/fundie asshole who keeps trying to convert you against your will has been raptured.

Then it tells you that you need to accept Jesus right away.

Now let me get this straight: The whole purpose of this Rapture thing is to get all the Christians off Earth so that when de debbil comes, they won't be there, right? And when de debbil has you, he doesn't turn you loose, right? Well then, if this Rapture story is right on, once all the fundie assholes have been raptured there won't be any reason to turn to Jesus--you can't get free of de debbil's clutches anyway.

The are going to use lasers, and 3 D holograms to make it appear that christ is coming from the heavens to help. You will see how many losers by into it. Truth is GOD is inside of all of us. We dont need to go to some church to pray to him. We can talk to him anytime just go outside and look at the SUN. The Sun the giver of life. Without the Sun we would be dead and life on this planet would cease to exist.

Interesting that you bring up the laser show / hologram technology.
About a year ago, someone posted an article about
a Russian scientist who had developed a way to use
spcae as an advertising billboard. Coke commercials
on the moon and such...
I agree with your understanding of God, by the way.
I stopped going to church a long time ago.
Too many false Christians and preachers in those
places for my taste.

PS: Years ago, I had a dream about a false

you are referring too- in the dream I knew it
was fake and I was trying to warn people

38. Thank you and yes (read)
They are following a book that man wrote what we call a bible they will never turn the earth over to us. They rather destroy the earth than give it back to the humans. If you read New Scientist there was an article that stated that 20% of Europeans have a DNA strand that no other has. Gee where this did DNA strand come from

Did early Europeans break the big taboo?
22 January 2005
Bob Holmes
Magazine issue 2483
The ancestors of today's Europeans may have interbred with another early human species, which would account for a peculiar stretch of DNA
THE ancestors of today's Europeans interbred with another early human species. That's one explanation being proposed to explain the discovery of a peculiar stretch of DNA in some modern Europeans.

As part of an extensive gene-mapping programme, researchers at deCODE Genetics in Reykjavik, Iceland, have been searching for places in the human genome where chunks of DNA containing many genes get turned back-to-front. One of these inversions, on chromosome 17, caught their eye because it turns up in about 20 per cent of Europeans, yet is rare in Africans and almost absent in Asians

Why do they let Robertson near a keyboard? Clearly, his neurons have melded together, into some sort of discombobulated soup.

Yes, Pat. There are earthquake happening. However, did you know that the worst earthquake ever measured, was in 1960, in Chili; a 9.5 on the Richter scale. The worst earthquake in North America, struck Anchorage in 1964.

Many wackynuts back then, predicted the end was near.

YAAAAAAWN!!

Robertson obviously gets more donations--when the vulnerable, 90-year old ladies who watch his show are whipped into a frenzy of fear.

Seriously, Pat....just STFU. Really. S...T...F...U.

62. There was also an earthquake in Chile in 1575
that is believed to have had a magnitude roughly equal to the 1960 quake. And research in ocean trenches is indicating that catastrophic earthquakes may be occurring on a regular (150-350 year) basis in offshore subduction zones around the world.

53. These actions quoted above have been happening throughout
the history of mankind.

"# "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24 -8)
"

Those descriptions are like tales told by amateur fortune tellers. How could anyone take them to be significant signs of impending doom?

The real signs of doom are the actions being taken by the Bush administration, too numerous to even attempt to list.

I'm agnostic, but I'm pretty sure it has conflicting accounts in the book of Revelation's, one saying something about Jesus coming back like a thief in the night and we ain't gonna know when, and we're not supposed to try and predict. Another part has him coming in a bright light or something. And isn't there supposed to be a thousand years of peace after he gets here, and THEN the world get destroyed? I'm pretty sure they are not presenting it correctly, even if I did believe in it.
Manipulative Pharisee Assholes.

which is the highest category. See <http://www.raptureready.com/rap2.html >

60. How nice of CNN to give Wacko Pat the air time to scare ...
all of his gullible sheep that this is the end times. I'm sure the sheep give more money the more they are scared. Thanks again, CNN, for airing this "news."

Of course, right after Pat they had two more republicans come on to discuss the Plame investigation. I guess Dick Thornburg was the "liberal."

Liberal media , my ass. But we already knew that.

63. yes, all we have to do is look at history
during Nostradomus' time, there were many "seers" like Nostradomus predicting the "end times." All through history there have been surges of end times prophecy and fear tactics used to control the "cultish" masses. Mother Earth does not stop changing just because some wish her to stay still. Because today there is a mass increase in population, the devastation is higher for humans. And "bottom feeders" like Pat only instigate and use those fears so that he can make another buck!

64. Yes and the Bible says
that Jesus is going to return like "a thief in the night." At the same time, we have been having storms, wars and disasters since time began. So Pat, go away. No one needs you making your prophecies to scare people into your nasty little agenda. The Bible indicates you aren't supposed to be trying to "guess" when the second coming happens. (That's assuming it will even happen....Revelations could have been written by a bunch of monks tripping on mushrooms as far as I'm concerned.)
