Rupert Murdoch is a Slimey F*CK
<RANT>

I know, baseball is so un-pc, but I've been a fan all my life. I loved watching the playoffs and series in the fall. It's about the best part of the fall to me.

Three playoff games yesterday, three playoff games today and not A FUCKING ONE ON Broadcast TV.

So much for "America's Pasttime". It belongs to that Aussie FUCK Murdoch now!!!

BASTARD!!!!

</RANT>

1. I'm with you. I refuse to buy cable anymore.
Quit in 1998. My kids said I (a TV junky) couldn't do it. Figure I saved over $2,000 since then.

Rabbit ears give me about 7 channels - depending on weather and radar interference. That's more than enough trash coming into my home.

2. We have been without for..
... almost three years now. Same as you 'cept we have an antenna on the roof. A buzzard recently bent one of the thingies (the official technical term, I'm sure... LOL) on the antenna so we unfortunately don't get our pbs channel very clearly sometimes. I thought my hubby would climb the walls, but he now realizes that he only has to flip through about 7 channels of nothing instead of 300. What's not to like?

3. Welcome to DU. You are right about the flipping.
When I visit my daughter they have satellite. That's all I do is scroll thru hundreds of channels and wind up settling on an old movie from the 50's. Last time I watched the Silent Man (?) with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara three times.

In general I'd rather watch grass grow than watch the junk they sell.

5. Welcome to you to.
The thing I found surprising is that a Rothschild sits on the Fox Board of Directors. That was very strange to me.

Everytime I see Murdock I think about the last James Bond film where the villain was a Media Mogol.

I wonder why his oldest son dropped out and returned to Australia. Sounds like he couldn't stomach Ruppert. Poor kid - you can choose your friends - you can't choose your relatives.

6. That's the story of British sport for the past 10-15 years
Bit by bit it gets eaten up by Sky.
