another cronyism tidbit from Michelle Malkin

MICHELLE MALKIN
The Other Troubling Nomination

Before the quag-Miers, (hat tip: Confederate Yankee for the term) there was the other quag-Myers. That is: Julie Myers, a Bush lawyer with virtually no immigration and customs enforcement experience and minimal managerial experience who has been nominated to head the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. She just happens to be niece of recently retired chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Richard Myers/wife of DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff's chief of staff/former employee of Chertoff and outgoing ICE head Michael Garcia.

2. Ah, but Bush deserves to pick the team he wants
and they deserve an up or down vote. There are consequences to elections blah, blah, nuclear option, blah, blah, obstructionist blah, blah...

Have they forgotten what they themselves have said?

3. They forget whatever they say the instant it leaves their mouths
Less troubling to have to deal with truth that way.

5. And there was Colin Powell's son Michael Powell chosen to head the FCC
I'm sure the list of cronies and appointments through nepotism is long. Bush himself became a candidate through his father and his father's cronies, after all.

8. Someone with the time should compose a list
of past and recent appointments made as the result of nepotism and cronyism. After all, one of the major points to be made by the Democrats in 2006 will be the elimination of cronyism and corruption.

10. almost forgot Elizabeth Cheney
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 12:39 AM by foo_bar
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today announced the selection of Elizabeth Cheney as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs and Coordinator for Broader Middle East and North Africa Initiatives.

Is that a title or what?

wiki edit:

Her position makes her the second-ranking U.S. diplomat for the Middle East and the State Department's principal deputy assistant secretary of state.
