in thanking you for all you've done, especially for always being a friendly face (or in DU's case, a friendly post) for us all. Like many other DU members, I had the experience of being welcomed to DU by you. There was an occassion when I gave you a hard time about missing me in your MILESTONES. Turns out you didn't miss me at all, but I really just wanted a chance to tease you. After all, one doesn't tease someone he or she doesn't care a dang about. :)

I've already planned several XMas gifts for my wife, though I've had to revise our anniversary plans for November and am still trying to think of something... I'm pretty sure my wife has not even started to think of these things, and my birthday is a week after our anniversary. I also bought our daughter's Halloween costume a few weeks ago because I didn't want to be scrambling on Sunday, October 30 looking for the last costume in central Connecticut.

And, my wife would need a map to find the washer & dryer in our house (and, no our home is not THAT big), would need classes in how to operate a vacuum cleaner, and I wouldn't even think of letting her clean the floors.

Some good friends of my wife have similar husbands, too. Of course, my wife and her friends are all well educated professionals with very good jobs (one is a cardiologist)...

Of course, it could be cultural, too.
