Let's just state the obvious
Edited on Mon Oct-03-05 01:10 PM by Generator
So what was that bullshit in the media about "Bush taking his time to pick the next nominee to the supreme court?" Oh yeah, utter tripe. All Bush has to do is look under his desk and find the lawyer waiting to serve him. No experience? No problem. She's from Texas. She's loyal. This is like she's from Sicily and she's a made gal.

And I have lost all hope that any Dem leader can just state the obvious. This country is not Bush's to make over with his loyal goombas from Texas. This country is not Bush's to decide whatever person gets the job based on nothing more than HOW MUCH THEY LIKE BUSH. He nominates his own counsel!!!!!!!!!!!

This country is becoming a frigging joke. How much more obvious does it have to be? It's supposed to be the SUPREME COURT. Not a little appointment by the dogcatcher of Crawford to his best beer buddy.

No experience as a judge. Why can't the frigging Democrats say that's enough right there? No way. You are turning our country into a mockery of rights and justice. Oh, wait that already happened. We have Roberts-we didn't answer any real questions, refused to provide documents, and was ruling in Bush's favor while he was being interviewed by Bush annointed chief justice of the supreme court with only two years experience.

It so easy to destroy a country. It's amazing that Americans have the audacity to feel smug over Europeans when we are becoming nothing but a second rate joke.

Don't be frigging asking me to write my senators and plead with them to do the right thing. If the can't see the obvious then there is no hope. Welcome to Bushland. America is over.

1. thank you for putting it out so clearly for all to see:

"Welcome to Bushland. America is over." and i hope all will see.

WHO WILL START THE NEXT REVOLUTION?

Will the judges start the next revolution?
Will the judges in the supreme court CONFRONT the bush boy?
Will it be the media?
Will it be the people?

as Rob Kall of OpEd News put it, "Even Chris Matthews calls this patronage".

AMERICA IS BURNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I totally agree. It just seems as if they have chipped away
at our expectations until noone even notices that this woman, besides not being qualified, does not even pass the cronyism test. It all IS just too much.

As you say, it is so easy to destroy a country. I would NEVER have believed this could happen.

3. Such an incredibly stupid
pick, I have to wonder, does he have a goal here beyond f*** you I can do anything I want.
Is he gonna float a whole bunch more crap under the radar while we are screaming about this? Is this a diversion or what, it seems like I'm missing something here.......

4. You hit the nail on the head, Generator!!

It make you wonder if he put any thought and effort at all into finding someone vto pick. Out the thousands of well-qualified legal minds in academia and practice accross this huge country, he had to just pull the one out of his ass. Excuse my French!

5. I know we are way past believing
we deserve anything like the best in this country. The new Dem motto is "she's not that bad" following Roberts, "He MAY not turn out to be that bad." The fact that she follows so fast on all the problems many of us had with Roberts, and that she follows on the latest disaster in our minds-crony unqualified Michael Brown, former head of FEMA makes it burn even more obviously.

Oh, but don't worry she's a fundamentalist anti-abortion who thinks everything attorney general Gonzalez has done is just fine.

But hey-she gave money to Gore-let's confirm her! Oh and she's a woman-we must give her a chance. Of course loyalty to Bush is her only real qualification but that shouldn't bother the Dems, because after all since she has no real record to dispute-she "might not be so bad." Another victory for Dems! (Daily Kos says so)
