Wasn't he known to gather his military forces and go city to city killing Iraqis who wouldn't cooperate with the central government? Do you think he called them terrorists too. Isn't that what we are about to put him on trial for? What are we doing with all the dead and wounded Iraqis from these major assaults? I think we should be asking these questions.

US continues major assault in western Iraq

QAIM, Iraq (Reuters) - U.S. troops again hunted al Qaeda militants near the Syrian border in western Iraq on Sunday, the second day of "Operation Iron Fist", after the U.S. military said it had killed eight guerrillas on Saturday.

"Operations are still ongoing," a U.S. spokesman said.

Local residents reported military action in Qaim and air strikes in the nearby towns of Karabila, Si'ida and Rumiya.

The U.S. military said some 1,000 troops launched the assault on Saturday against what it called al Qaeda in Iraq fighters, about 12 km (7 miles) from the Syrian border.

3. they killed 150 in Tal Afar
but by the time they got there the insurgents had fled. So the 150 dead were just ordinary Turkmen. I think it's called collective punishment, and I think it's a violation of international law.
