Elements of Fascism : a Practical Look
Back in the 30s they kicked jews' asses and wrecked there storefronts etc. When I reflected on what fascism meant to me personally for the first time last year i supposed that it would involve slashed car tires, no fly list maybe, voting bullshit etc. Well aside from whatever it means on a practical level, it definitely does involve paranoia. Anyway, in the last two days, the ecu in my car got fried in my driveway, my new computer is toast and i've gotten all kinds of phone calls. Talk amongst yourselves

2. Fascism is not a coherent ideology.
It may contain elements of communism, nationalism, racism, and theocratism. The major fascist regimes of the 20th century were driven by small groups of men obsessed with power, who shared little apart from a vague belief in the virtue of authority. Musollini was not a racist and refused to have Italian Jews killed: Hitler was a supporter of rich industrialists while Peron endorsed state socialism.
The Nazi Party contained everyone from Communists to feudalists: their policies had no consistent ideological direction and were often totally contradictory. In reality, what we call fascist regimes are simply any non-third-world dictatorships without communist aims.
Therefore, it's hard to have "elements of Fascism", becuase fascism is an ill-defined and pragmatic movement.

4. fear and greed and lies. it's all about maintaining power
maintaining power by appealing to base emotions and instincts of the masses. fear and greed are powerful motivators, and fascists bypass the logic circuits to make whatever appeals suit their purposes.
