I need screen name suggestions for a 14 year old girl.
Emily wants to post on DU. She went to the D.C Protest, the DU party and PDA workshop too. She is lost at coming up with a screen name, so we want suggestions.

16. Screen names
Is there a favorite character from book or movie she'd like to adopt as a name? A subject that she's interested in? A career she'd like to have? These make good sparks for screen names.

60. Screen Names
My daughter, 12, lives for LOTR and Dragons. So she used a combo of these for her AOL name. There's a black dog in both Harry Potter and Hound. She could call herself Moddy Dhu, which is black dog in Gaelic.
Or how about Irene Adler, the only woman (*the* woman) who got the drop on Sherlock Holmes.

Does she want to be "serious", or whimsical? Does she have a favorite person, movie, event, cause...

If she enjoyed the protest, how about LilProtester, or IwasThere, or IworkforFreedom, or something related to the protest.

tell her what ever she decides on, we'll love her and welcome her just the same!

53. Yes, stick it out.
There are many avenues to channel nursing through. You don't always have to be a floor nurse. Only in the beginning. The Forensic Nursing field is WIDE Open. Set your goals for a Masters and join your nursing association... I'm a Legislative Liaison in Ohio and it is definitely a festive experience.

55. If I was 20 I would head for the MSN.
As it is I am 49 so I have little ambition about a long term career. It has taken me three years to get through prerequisites (despite already having a bachelor's degree) and the waiting list so two more years is all I want to put into it. I am just amazed at how little training we are given before being thrown into the hospital with a patient. I can tell the patients all about care plans and nursing theory but I am sure they don't care about that. I think they would like to know I could safely care for them. I think CNAs come on the floor with more training than us. Anyway, I am glad to hear someone say to stick it out. Every doctor I have ever talked to and a lot of nurses tell me to run while the getting is good.
