Afleck to stand for Senator??
Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Link: http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/63202004.htm

Snip: <DAREDEVIL star BEN AFFLECK has been eyed for a new role - as a US Senator. .

The Washington Post reports Virginia Democrats have hatched plans to run the Hollywood actor against Republican Senator GEORGE ALLEN in next year's (06) election. .

Affleck and his pregnant wife JENNIFER GARNER are said to have shopped for a house around Charlottesville, Virgnia, but still appear far from making a move anytime soon. .
Once Affleck's name was mentioned by state Democrats, it proved extremely popular. .

University of Virginia professor LARRY SABATO says, "It spread pretty widely, at least in the political underground." >

3. LOL
He seems to be pretty enganged in politics though. He really campaigned a lot last year I remember for Kerry. I even remember him going on O'Reilly's show.

This is either a very dumb idea or a bullshit story.

7. Affleck is politically savvy.
He hobnobs with Dean, Kerry, & behind-the-scenes dems. I think he's genuine - as opposed to Ahnuld 'frinstance.
But boy, would those Virginia Freepers trash him for his so-called Hollywood image.

16. He campaigned for Gore and spoke about minimum wage with Damon.
Other than that, I don't know anything about him or his political values.

One thing worries me: alcoholism runs in his family and he has had trouble with drinking.

Instead of some Virginia nobody.

That way he can gain some national momentum for his imminent 2008 presidential campaign.

15. I just hope he has a better take on the country than
the crap movies in which he’s appeared. And yes, that did not stop the Governator. Still, if I had to choose between them, I would pick Affleck. At least he attends the right convention.

Unfortunately!! However, celebrities are the only ones it seems, who can make an impact on the millions of NON-ideology philosophy...

So go Affleck. Yes! I'm not sure he has the capacity, but did Arnold?

At least the Dems are finally getting smart...
