The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights said HCA, Inc., the Nashville-based hospital chain founded by Frist’s father and older brother, and its malpractice insurance subsidiary would benefit financially from Frist-backed legislation to limit liability…”

JUNE 13 – FRIST TELLS TRUSTEE TO SELL ALL HIS SHARES OF HCA: “According to Frist’s office, the senator decided to sell all his HCA stock — held in blind trusts managed by two companies for him, his wife and his children — on June 13.” This is only permitted under Senate rules if Frist had assumed (or was going to assume) new “duties.’

7. I'm not sure.

The corporate malfeasance journalist Jason Leopold thinks Frist is politically dead meat already over this:

And Frist not only has the enforcement division of the SEC, headed by the formidable Linda Chatman Thomsen, on him now (with the benefit of a very public recusal by Frist crony and SEC Chair Christopher Cox), but he's also got the US Attorney's office for the Southern District of New York looking in.

Frist has lied publicly about this matter already, that much is clear from his contradictory public statements. If he knows what's good for him, he'll tell the absolute truth to the SEC and the investigators from the US Attorney's office, and hope for a six figure fine to keep his proudly melanin-free ass out of the pokey.
