NBC legal drama, "Class Action," to be exec produced by Erin Brockovich
Variety: Peacock pops for Brockovich
NBC pacts with crusader for drama
by Joseph Adalian

....Peacock is developing an hourlong legal drama to be exec produced by (Erin) Brockovich....NBC has made a premium script commitment to the project, attaching a six-figure penalty if it's not picked up to pilot.

Dubbed "Class Action," potential skein will be set in the morally vague world of class-action lawsuits as seen through the eyes of a team of high-powered lawyers -- not all of whom have the most altruistic intentions.

Brockovich will not be a character in the project. Instead, she'll be on hand to supply story ideas and lend authenticity to the project.

Brockovich is "already feeding us great ideas from cases she's handled," Gibson said.

Brockovich said she hopes "Class Action" will help shed more light on injustices by portraying them in primetime. "There's a real opportunity for us to be a spotlight so that other people can learn about these issues," she told Daily Variety....

1. This is good.
Hopefully this show can help to bring the consequences of tort reform to light.
