I wish he cared as much about suffering people as he does about his own image.

Bush: Government was 'well-prepared'

Sunday, September 25, 2005; Posted: 9:10 a.m. EDT (13:10 GMT)

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (AP) -- President Bush is on a three-state trip, meeting with military and emergency officials, to show himself as a leader engaged in federal efforts to recover from twin hurricanes that have struck the Gulf Coast in less than a month.

***

Bush was to spend part of Sunday in San Antonio where federal supplies and workers were being assembled for Hurricane Rita and then fly to Baton Rogue, La. The visits follow stops on Saturday in Texas and at the U.S. Northern Command in Colorado where he autographed a photo of himself gripping a bullhorn at Ground Zero three days after the September 11, 2001, terror attacks.

+++

After breakfast, Bush got an hourlong briefing about flooding in eastern Texas and western Louisiana and potential disruptions to U.S. energy supplies. He also discussed with command leaders options for giving the armed forces a broader role in national disasters, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said.

Saturday's travel kept Bush far from Washington, where ten of thousands of opponents of the war in Iraq were demonstrating. The crowd, shouting "Bush out now" and "Peace now," marched in front of the White House and then to the Washington Monument in an 11-hour marathon of dissent.

2. I thought about this just a little while ago
Ratface probably doesn't even know how to turn on a computer, let alone use one.

That's another chilling thought, isn't it? He lacks any semblance of intellectual curiosity. Clinton and Gore were both computer-savvy, 'way back in the twentieth century, when the "internets" were just starting up.

They can take all the goofy pictures they want, nothing changes what's happened. I just hope the American people don't let him slither away from all this like they have in the past.

21. I think the photo ops make things worse personally
To me it shows me the fool that he is. Of course I already think he's a fool. He isn't really working and I think by Landrieu's testimony people are waking up to his false photo-op's.

4. The autographing of items bugs me
I have footage on a couple of clips I saved of him autographing stuff wherever he goes, like the Folger's Coffee Cans when he visited there.

It's unseemly and ill-mannered. He's there for one purpose and instead he's busy autographing as if HE is the celebrity. Even if it is true that people would like a piece of him, he ought to be dignified enough not to do it.

Still trying to pass as one of his peeps. I don't think many of them are buying it anymore, and the hard-core kool-aid drinkers are not coming back from their alternate reality no matter what happens in this one.

14. Comical side point
notice that one sleeve of his "blue collar" shirt is rolled up, and his other one is buttoned normally?

Must have thought he would be photographed on his Right side . . .

I also notice that Chertoff got the same memo from the PR czar - blue shirt, collar open, sleeves rolled up . . .

15. Just noticed something - Bush's head doesn't seem proportionally
correct - look at Chertoff's, then compare to W's.

It seems that W's "concerned expression" head might have been copied and photo-shopped onto the picture . . .

the proverbial cat who swallowed the bird. How does that, I had no idea evacuees were in the stadium ass wipe, still have a job?

Blind loyalty, kissing ass bigtime, and incompetence are the main criteria for being part of this vile administration.
