DU is a great place for people to come together
These are dangerous times, we share news, insight and the camaraderie is important for many of our minds sake, still many times we feel overwhelmed with events. My point I feel saddened when a member rants and fed up with the struggle with the pnac agenda, they give notice of quiting the du, and many instead of offering support, say something uncaring I would expect to here from a freeper. My rant Peace

1. We don't like when apathy is taught. Anyone who is having a hard
time is encouraged to take a break - a breather - mentor a kid - etc. We don't like it when apathy is created and pushed. That is how Saddam ruled Iraq & Hitler Germany.

We will not be worn down. We need people active and motivated for the 2006 elections. Apathy, though very real, is not the way to get out of this situation.

Anyone can leave the DU. Best to just take a break if the DU has meant anything to you. And it does mean a great deal to many.

Here we fight apathy. It is a political discussion board. So if you want to be apathetic and teach that - teach 'non-activity' - you can see how it may not be taken to kindly.

What if I went to a board that discussed mental health and told everyone to be un-healthy?

2. Who is teaching apathy
All I said was show EMPATHY, taking a break is good advice but many times I see cold hearted remarks.

3. It's the nature of BBs-ing.
We're faceless entities to one another. It's easy to snap off some snarky comment because we don't really care what impact it has on the faceless person on the other end.
