What's with the Mass Idiocy?
I mean, just look at any photo of an Arnold rally. Look at his supporters. They're idiots. Hannity/Rush/O'Leily-listening, tractor-pull-attending, red neck idiots.

NEWSFLASH FOR DITTOHEAD CATTLE PEOPLE WITH NO CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT THOUGHT:

ARNOLD HAS ZERO POLITICAL EXPERIENCE. ZERO.

HE'S A FRIEND TO KEN LAY AND THE VERY SAME ENERGY CARTELS THAT SCREWED CALIFORNIA.

HE TREATS WOMEN LIKE FUCKING GARBAGE. UNDENIABLE FACT.

HE IS A BUSHCO SOCK-PUPPET!

HE'S A FRAUD!

HELLO, YOU FUCKING DOLTS! THIS IS THE FUTURE OF YOUR STATE!!!

1. indeed... the mainstream populace has finally gone over the edge
much to the chagrin of those us who are cursed with the ability to reason.

In the end, the idiots will win, and this makes me really sad.

Just kidding- but that is what the ditto heads have been conditioned to respond. I don't know if we will ever get it through their sorry heads.

6. I'm not sure how I feel about this post

On the one hand I don't want arnold to win the CA gov. race. (weren't all of his supporters screaming about keeping hollywood out of politics a few months ago?)

But I really resent the tone of the author "tractor-pull-attending, red neck idiots". Just because someone lives inside of a major city it doesn't make them any smarter than someone with a rural background. I see this alot. Aparently the one group its still OK to make fun of in America is the rural poor. Sad.

9. I'm Not Making Fun of The Rural Poor
I said nothing about where people live. I live in Sacramento--a major city in California--where I'm surrounded by Arnold-supporting self-styled red neck conservatives. They're everywhere, and many of them are making a hell of a lot more money than I am.

I suppose I shouldn't stereotype all tractor-pull attendees, but I'd argue that you won't find many enlightened progressive folks at these events. At least not in California.

I'm just angry. I meant no offense to the rural poor.

10. Don't take it personally
PLEASE. I understand the emotion of the original poster. What's happening in America is so over the top and down the rabbit hole some folks (myself included) can at times be reduced to screaming meemies in our absolute astonishment and horror. Sometime we just need to vent and as happens in families, those closest to you can often be the recipients of a faceload of ca-ca-doo-doo. Wir bitten Ihre Verständnis.

23. Where do you get rural poor out of tracter-pull-attending, red neck
idiots. Is it the tracter-pull that makes them poor or is it idiots that makes them rural. I guess it's red neck and it's been my experience that red necks are found in every city in america. I believe the term red neck implies a frame of mind more than any real physical appearance. Anyway I don't get rural and poor from any of his posts.

7. Don't get it either
I have friends and relatives who are Republicans. I don't understand where they're coming from, but for the love of God, if "Conservative Republican" is the flavor you prefer, there's a perfectly good conservative Republican in the race (McClintock).

I simply can't understand why somebody would vote for a sexual predator with no experience over somebody with years of public service to his credit. It's not that I agree with McClintock, but if given only those two as a choice, it would be no contest.

8. As a woman...I want to know who those ding-bats are that stand behind him
on the podium? Hello???? Is it a "well, he didn't grope me so I am o.k. with him as gov"? The last I saw, he didn't have ONE WOMAN listed to be a prominent woman on his staff. But then again, a womanizer doesn't have one ounce of respect for women.

I guess they have Ding Bats like our party. We looked the other way with Clinton. I'm sorry, I just don't like hypocrisy. On either side. Besides, I don't think he's got a chance to win.

I was once a womanizer and I had nothing but the highest repect for my lovers.

If Arnold had a brain it would be a different story, so I do agree on that point.

13. It's not just in CA, it's all over the US.
The vast majority of people are uneducated, media-trained, celebrity-worshipping, apolitical, unmotivated by anything but sports, pop culture, and shopping, and learned only in fundamental non-think. More young, white men wearing backward baseball caps will vote for the first and only time in this election than you can imagine. They love Arnie because he is promoted in the movies, macho, rich, white, male, and says what they all think... everyman talk. No amount of reasoning will work on the average American sheeple.

a candidate who:

From being good, caring people to right wing haters who listen to right wing radio all day and call it truth.

Here's my take, the more miserable people seem to be, the more they gravitate towards the right. We have a lot of miserable and dysfunctional people in this country.

24. don't forget the holier than thou element
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 05:48 PM by Woodstock
people who want to look down on someone to make themselves feel better

the Republiclan party has a wide selection of thous for the holiers to look down on, all they need to do is call them "Democrat" and look down, baby, look down:

women
racial minorities
ethnic minorities
gays
poor people
non-fundamentalist Christians (Christian as defined by Pat Robertson, not Jesus)

it's a mix or match thing - so holy rollers can pick women and non-fundamentalist Christians to look down on, Britney Spears fans can pick ethnic people and poor people to look down on, Arnold fans can pick women to look down on - there's someone for anyone to hate in today's Republican party

they just pay the fee for admission (sign over retirement to Enron, sign release on claims to natural resources, give up student loan to pay for wealthiest 1% tax cut, strip out a few lines here or there from the Constitution, etc.) and they are IN THE CLUB

their welcome gift is a discount coupon on guns

26. Goebbels v2.0 has been extraordinarly successful
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 05:43 PM by tom_paine
If you adjust for the difference in nations and times between v1.0 (Grandpa Prescott's Old Business Partners, the Nazis) and v2.0 (Roverer and the Busheviks)

Not to mention the disparate aims in which v1.0 was s traight-out power play by today's standards and v2.0 seeks to disance itself from v1.0 because it is trying to defile a "Free Nation"...

...amazingly successful indeed.

And the other shoes will drop, when v2.0 has utterly erased the American Experiment (except for the repetititous cry of Corporate TV Pravda "You are FREE! You are FREELY FREE! You are the FREELY FREEST PEOPLE WHO EVER WERE FREELY FREED!").

Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 06:37 PM by BeFree

on edit add: </sarcasm>

The sheeple want a fearless herder. They want their sheperd to be a ruthless killer, that way they all feel safe as they keep their heads down while grazing the greem earth to a lifeless nub.

They all saw him on the TV killing and maiming and taking out the bad guys. The sheeple flock to that image flickering on the big screen, not to the man behind the curtain.

Look! Look at the Gropenator, he's as fearful and deadly as any actor could be! It's what they want in their leaders.

He is, however, a wolf in sheeps clothing, as most all the neo-Cons are.
