Those who love the man himself, and as such will follow him anywhere. Those who support conservative ideals regardless of the politician just got mighty pissed off.

1. I think there is one more aspect to these folks, too
which is that, like their great leader, they will not admit a mistake.

3. No, back to my analysis of the Bush core support
Edited on Fri Sep-16-05 01:26 PM by Inland
1) right wing religious who see him as the last chance for anti abortion and anti gay laws, and will pretend that he isn't lying or screwing up no matter what; and

2) cultural haters who can't possibly bring themselves to admit that weenie liberals and gays and college education mofos have a point about Bush or conservatives.

I put it at about a third of America, based on the fact Alan Keyes got 27% of the vote in the senate race in Illinois.

4. People described best by Mel Brooks in Blazing Saddles:
'These are people..., they have unchanging values, the salt of the earth people, you know, MORONS!'

5. Unfortunately, due to the revamped Nazi Propaganda Machine
That is now roughly 30-40% of the nation.

The Nazis took over with less.

And the number of Bushevik Automatons is the fastest growing group of human beings in Imperial Amerika.

Finally, even if that weren't the case, we have no way to get these monsters out of office.

What are we gonna do..."vote" them out?

That ship has sailed long ago, ladies & germs.

8. I think it's closer to 30 percent and maybe lower
Polls where the qustion is asked have Bush's strong approval in the low 20s. That's his absolute hardcore support.

10. I disagree. Please take your defeatist nonsense somewhere else.

I disagree.

Please take your defeatist nonsense somewhere else. We haven't given up like you.

14. Sadly, he and his defeatist attitude have just as much right to be here
as we do.

Not that I don't sympathize, mind you. The "We're DOOMED" attitude does get tedious after a while. What are we supposed to do, run around screaming?

17. Yes he has the "right". That's why I phrased it as a request.
If we are doomed, then telling us we are doomed is no comfort.

If we are not doomed, then telling us we are doomed is doing the opposition's work.

6. It's a personality cult..
there was a thread on this last weekend that summed the bushbots up nicely. They're like the David Koresh and Jonestown Kool-Aid drinkers.

7. GWB
That, and whistle blowers. On different DU threads, I've read about:
1: a whistle blower @ Diebold
2: one @ DOD
3: one @ Halliburton

An interesting mix. Hopefully their emergence at the same time will embolden one another to the point where they reveal all they know, and we'll finally get all the pieces of this fascinating puzzle.

9. It is truly telling of his paranoia by how small his circle has become.
Karl Rove will oversee the reconstruction after Katrina. The same small group of companies favored in Iraq are now favored for the Gulf coast. His small cadre of Texas loyalists hold high and vital offices that are immediately accountable to the President. The circle is small and tight.

13. I hadn't thought about that, but you're right
The circle keeps drawing smaller and tighter, they've encapsulated themselves in a bubble, and probably don't see the end coming for them.

12. I think some people are sticking to Bush out of stubbornness
Don't want to admit to themselves that they got caught up and were lured in by such an obviously incompetent moron.

If Bush is a failure, what does that say about them (since they supported him)?

So they cling to the myth of his greatness, maybe not for him but for their own sense of self-respect.

16. Its like the daily show said last night
Its tough for Christians in this country. They are shut out of government, and are only represented by The White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court.

18. I cannot agree

The entire Senate and Congress are still toeing his line by disallowing the independent investigation into the Katrina Disaster.

19. Clarifications: I mean re: poll numbers and people who still think
that he's the best thing since sliced bread. I was thinking about my visit to freeperville last night. It was split between the "I heart George" people and the "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT LIBERAL GARBAGE" people as far as reaction.
