Anyone else get this crap via email?
Edited on Thu Sep-15-05 02:09 PM by DancingBear
Disgusting, but par for the course for Jingoism Is Us. BTW, the script was all in red. Do you think that was for the blood that is on *'s hands? Probably not.

(note: all spelling "issues" left intact)

RED FRIDAYS

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason?

Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority".
We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that..

Every red-blooded American who supports ourmen and women afar, will wear something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once "silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly mo re than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

I sent this out to everyone on my email list. Will you?

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.

THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED-WEAR RED!

MOST OF ALL - GOD BLESS AMERICA

steal a line from Bill Hicks, circa Gulf War 1: "I'm actually for the war, but against the troops."

maybe they just interviewed the Fighting 101st, Keyboarders Brigade.
And Bush always wears BLUE shirts--that'll make their heads spin, their God-King never wearing red (though he's a lot like Nancy Reagan in most every other respect).

9. OH MAN! Now I have to remember never to wear red on Fri!
It's not much of a problem because I rarely wear anything red!

I guess they're promoting what they believe in, and they really aren't bothering anyone. I say, that's fine if it makes you happy.

I like this a whole lot better than the agressive Pubs who buy lots of air time to spew their hate and lies.

freeper brother. I also rec'd it numerous times this summer, and have seen it posted on DU as well. Since red isn't my color, I ignored. :)

15. Yep. Got it from a former marine friend here at work.
He automatically assumes that since I'm also a veteran, that I'm sympathetic to this kind of crap. I've always tried to avoid political discussions with him because I know that he's a rabid right winger.

16. Wow, this would be ever so helpful
The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers.

The insurgency will really be in its last throes and all veterans will have their benefits restored because of the brave wingnuts wearing red on Fridays. :eyes: I'm just ever so certain that that is exactly what every soldier wants as support. Forget body armour and armoured vehicles! A red blouse will solve every problem. If they throw in some red socks, world hunger will cease to exist, too.

18. Durrr... we weren't against the soldiers jackass
we were against the war. Oh I hope I get one, please please please.

So I guess everyone who wears red on Friday after this is just fucking stupid. Big red banner that says hey, I got the memo but my poor reading comprehension skills have led me to dress up like a freedom fruit.

Remember, raspberry juice runs red too.

Yee haw!

They expected 3,000 to 10,000 supporters, and got what? a few hundred?

I hope they send this far and wide...and then scratch their heads when they're the only idiot in the office wearing a bright red shirt with a Bush pin on it. They'll blame it on that liberal e-mail.

25. I got this:
Q: How many Bush Administration officials does it take to screw in a
light bulb?

A: None. There's nothing wrong with the light bulb; its condition is
improving every day. Any reports of a lack of incandescence are
totally unfounded and the result of delusional "spin" assaults from the fanatic, elitist, liberal media. That light bulb has served honorably, and anything you say to the contrary dims its lighting effect and undermines its morale. Why do you hate freedom?

***I would just like to add: I support the light bulb, I have a magnet on my SUV that says just that.......besides....illumination is HARD WORK!
