Schumer has had it....
Tune in to the hearings.

He is frustrated with the lack of views of Roberts. The "Roe v. Wade should be overturned" statement has sparked it.

2. Schumer rocks!
Biden was giving him crap too, but Schumer will actually vote how he feels.

7. any Democrat that votes for Roberts should be run out of the party.
We cannot continue to allow those who supposedly speak for us to slide by because they have a "D" next to their name.

6. He is doing great! Paraphrasing to Roberts, why can you comment on how you
feel about former cases before the court all over the place, except for here in this room.

Its as if i ask you what movies you like and you say I like movies that are good.

Its like asking do you like Casablanca, you answer a lot of people like Casablanca (laughter)

10. Chuck Is My Sorry Ass Senator. He Talks A Good Game. Then Votes With Them
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 03:12 PM by DistressedAmerican
Before people start showering the guy with praise, wait and see how he votes.

During the Condi confirmation he made a big speech saying that those that voted against the nomination "were doing a service to the nation".

Then after all of the liberals in America decided he was doing the right thing and started the cheering, he turned around and voted FOR HER!

I can only assume that was a disservice to the nation.

Be smart, hold your hurrahs for actual walking the walk not just talking the talk!

Do not let him play you AGAIN. He always does!

14. And He Voted For IWR, Patriot Act, Rice, Gonzalez...
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 03:18 PM by DistressedAmerican
Those were easy no votes. The two you mention were basically party line votes. They took no political courage at all. This one will, as did the four I list above.

11. It reminds
of Rehnquist not being able to remember if he asked minorities if they could read in Arizona(intimidate minorities voting). I always thought that conservatives were proud of their views but when asked to elaborate they grow awful evasive

12. "It's as if I'm ask you if you like movies, and which movies, and you
say to me I like movies with good acting, directing, and I ask if you like Casablanca and you say lots of people love Casablanca".

Robert just answered that he likes Dr. Zhivago and North By Northwest. Interesting on Zhivago

25. Yeah, voting to confirm someone even more right-wing and fascist than
Rehnquist as the Supreme Justice of the US is purely righteous? Any dem that votes this scum in is ok with you Mr B? I don't get that. What do you consider going too far?

22. You Are Praising Him Before The Vote. But, His Track Record Sucks.
If you can proclaim that he rocks before the vote, I can certainly roast him with his own record before he votes for the guy.

Again, I'll point you the Iraq War resolution, The USA Patriot Act, The Gonzalez confirmation and the Rice confirmation.

If you were not so quick to praise, I would not feel the need to set the record straight on this guy's behavior patterns. He has a track record of giving blistering speeches and voting for what he acted like he opposed.

It is right there in the guy's voting record.

He is my senator and I can tell you he DOES NOT ROCK! He plays a damn good game because people see the sound bites and ignore the vote counts.

I will never vote for him again. He sold me out time in and time out since he was elected as my representative.

John Roberts will be confirmed. The majority of Dems will vote yea. The excuse? They are saving their powder for the next nominee.
