2. Listening...
I've seen Jeffers on various cable food fights...he's ok, but us Chicagoans kinda like listening to one of our own. But this is far better than the usual RW pukers on this station.

8. Jeffers just made the points that:
Edited on Sun Oct-05-03 01:37 PM by Padraig18
1.) He has many conservative friends, and Rush, Hannity, et al are "RW fringe", not 'conservative'.

2.) The difference between RW-ers and progressives is RW-ers single-mindedly wake up fighting progressives in the mornings, while progressives have LIVES and take the kids to school, etc! Cracked me up! :P

Edit: Spelling errors

Award winning news journalist David Jennings will team up with national political analyst Carl Jeffers for a weekly talk show beginning October 5, 2003, from 12 noon to 3 pm on NewsTalk 890, WLS.

"Jennings and Jeffers offer a fresh approach to the hottest events and issues effecting our lives each Sunday," explains Michael Packer, WLS Operation Director. "As a journalist, David Jennings knows how to consistently deliver the real story behind the headlines. Carl Jeffers has the inside perspective on today’s volatile political field. This new high-energy talk show with David & Carl is guaranteed to be fast paced, entertaining and loaded with lots of interaction with callers."

David Jennings is an Associated Press award winning news anchor with over 25 years of investigative reporting experience in Chicago, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. He served as news anchor on the former news radio station, WMAQ-AM from 1997 - 2000 and most recently was heard as the Streaming Media Anchor for Web FN.

Carl Jeffers is an editorial contributor to The Seattle Times and a regular weekly-featured guest going toe to toe with Chris Mathews on "HARDBALL" on MSNBC. He also appears on Fox News Channel, CNN and has served as a political analyst on the CBS Early Show.

This Sunday’s program will be Jennings and Jeffers first talk show teamed together.

The live, interactive program will feature and invite participation via phone from the listening audience.

10. Too bad Carl keeps cutting out
Hopefully they can get the technical stuff straightened out soon. Maybe it's the Seattle fog that's causing it! ;-)

11. The Parsing Game...
On the left it's this adversion for Democrats to call Dubya a liar and the RW game of connecting any lie/scandal in this corrupt regime with Clinton. Why we waste time trying to defend this apples/oranges crap is getting so old.

Jennings did mention...albeit indirectly...that nobody has died from Clinton's lies. But he's trying way too hard to play "I'm liberal, but..." This is why there aren't many successful liberal/progressive commercial radio talk hosts.

12. Most Of The Calls (For Non-Chicagoans)
Are from the heavily Repugnican "collar counties"...WLS's "red-meat" area these days. I'll bet most are thinking Rush or Hannity is going to be on.
