Craig Crawford Suggests "They Let it Happen on Purpose"
Sunday night Keith Olberman had a two hour Katrina special and had Craig on during several segments. Crawford has a way of sounding like an "innocent" just thinking out loud; and by such means, is able to get things out over the airways that corporate media would definitely not allow.

He "suggested" (cough, cough)that the Homeland Security plan/policy is that we can lose numerous thousands of people without being too terribly affected. And, therefore, it's not important to rush headlong into a disaster (man made or natural) but to wait in case other trouble pops up. He "suggested" (cough, cough)that New Orleans was a trial balloon for them. They wanted to see if the people of this nation would explode in rage or kind of "get over it" and not care too much. (That's why I'm sickened by the obvious blitz yesterday by the media to make us think basically everything is all hunkie dorie now that George is in charge, etc.---what utter bullshit).

Perhaps I can understand if this nation were under attack that resources couldn't all go to one area as the shoe fell elsewhere. But, for a natural disaster, that inhumane policy is just pure criminal neglect and genocide. And, again, the American people are basically sleeping through itand can't comprehend what these facists are about. That's why Dem leaders can't let this be pushed under the rug; but I doubt if we will see anymore action on their part.

4. Good catch "exercise".......hmmmm?
I saw the Crawford segment on Olbermann, and I agreed with him because nothing else makes sense  There was never a sense of urgency from BushCo, and the nitpicking the Gov "for not specifically requesting military support" in her "send me all you got" plea.

I just hate this heartless administration.

10. There inaction was done with the same deliberateness as their
inaction to the reports that Bin Laden was determined to strike inside of the US.

15. Yes. a PATTERN...
...they did the same thing during the Enron mess in California. While California businesses were going broke trying to pay electric bills and "Grandma Millie" suffered with TRIPLE electicity bills...they refused to help or let FERC do anything! Our leaders need to point out this PATTERN.

5. Ommmmm---interesting
..and Olberman and Crawford said that sending Cheney down there was to see if it was safe for Georgie to show up and not be stoned to death, cussed out or whatever. Notice that they waited until the place was a ghost town before big, brave leader appeared in NO. And as I look at him on this umpteenth visit and his photo ops, he looks like he is absolutely pissed that he has to spend so much time doing this dumb presidential stuff and has to do the "I care" shit. And to think that this lowest of lifes to ever sit in the Oval Office, is going to pick the Supreme Court that will rule long after he has to move his toys out of the White House and get off the lawn!!!

2. Yes, they failed to lead on purpose
They purposely withheld resources that were already available. But even worse they blocked and turn back assistance has well.

The next few weeks are going to be the most crucial time in US History. We won the first round when Blanco stood up to BushCO and refused to give up the State of LA.

Now the next test is how will Congress, the M$M and the American People respond. We must all demand justice and no one, absolutely no one is above the law.

3. related Craig Crawford column here
doesn't make that suggestion, but a good read none the less and shows you where he is coming from. . .

referenced by a DU'er yesterday:

http://www.cq.com/public/crawford_current.html

<snip>

The president’s handling of this disaster reveals a part of his nature that explains so much more than the arguably preventable extent of Katrina’s unprecedented wreckage. It explains such things as his refusal to back down on Social Security revisions that even his own party leaders don’t want anymore. It explains how the “compassionate conservative” proclamation of his first presidential campaign translated into little of significance, especially for the urban poor. And it explains why he hasn’t gone to one funeral for an American soldier killed in Iraq.

In short, rising numbers of Americans perceive Bush as someone who thinks he’s always right, who believes his critics are know-nothing wimps, and who considers the little people as mere tools for the rich and powerful to do what he considers right for America.

7. emulat--Crawford mentioned much of what was in that article
in this appearance. This also tells me (and should tell everyone) just exactly who Judge Roberts is. In other words, there is no way in hell that Bush is going to put some nice moderate guy in there or someone he knows might let Roe v. Wade, etc. stand. He has NEVER backed down on anything. He loves "in your face". He is not simply leading his party. He wants all Dems, all liberals and the whole Dem Party smashed to bits and the individuals personally destroyed. Mr. Mild-Mannered Roberts, mark my word, is going to blow the doors off this country as Bush sits backs, drinks and laughs............

6. I think they INTEND to destroy FEMA to privatize it, just as they are
decimating our military to achieve the privatization of it that Cheney started back in 1991.

We will be paying the "market rate" for protection services to corporations like DynCorp, Halliburton, Blackwater and Bechtel.

"decimating our military to achieve the privatization of it that Cheney started back in 1991. We will be paying the "market rate" for protection services to corporations like DynCorp, Halliburton, Blackwater and Bechtel."

This is dead on IMO.

Scary shit.

George Bush the idiot prince, Judge Roberts the inquisitioner, and Dick Cheney the ravager.

...And who'da thought the future of America would end up looking like Robocop? Damn! If these thugs aren't stopped, there's going to be more blood -- our blood and the blood of the poor. How can it go any other way?

Please do tell, if anyone knows.

8. And, if they sincerely did everything they could
then it shows a disturbing unreadyness and incompetence by our "leader" and his appointees.

11. That attitude is also evident in their approach to environmental
issues. If we can afford to lose a few thousand at once due to an attack or a disaster, what's wrong with letting a few more thousand die before their time from illnesses caused by toxins that would have cost money to clean up?

That's the only other one I can think of...
