Purple Tea Party
This was a response to an earlier thread whereing someone professed to be abandoning the Dems to go to the Greens. Of course, they got flamed for inadvertently empowering *. But never mind about that.

I failed to get any responses for my post but with all this activity things often get lost, so I'm reposting just for the heck of it.

red + blue = purple

Though I love the policies of the Greens and their intense reverence towards nature, blue + yellow = green. Symbolically this could be why the progressive Dems are misperceived as more truthful but over intellectual and weak.

I'm seriously considering going purple. I too think a two party system is bull, and at best, can only result in intractable gridlock. At worst, it has most unfortunately resulted in fascism and a totally disempowered and trivialized opposition party.

There are far more than two points of view in this land of what used to be comprised of lively discussions. Canada is said to have a bunch of parties. I heard that they even have a "sex party" and a "marijuana party. " Have no clue as to whether their platforms argue for more or less of either.

A true spiritual movement that is tolerant, truly compassionate, inclusive, attentive to those less fortunate, would perhaps attract the droves of disgruntled members of both traditional parties maybe the only alternative to transcend our on going national divisiveness and derision.

May be time just about time for a Purple Tea Party indeed.

Purple has been long associated with spiritual transcendance.
"God loves spiritual fruits, not religious nuts."

Perhaps we could all consider sending post cards to Congress saying "Uncle Sam, you're fired" just to get their full attention. They are supposed to work for us, not the special interests after all. They most clearly are not working for us at all any longer.
