Designers: What type of font should you use on bumperstickers?

1. Very simple, and very large. n/t

2. Renfrew (aka Revue) is one

that I like. Depending on the number of words, go with Arial or Helvetica (sans serif) for short worded bumper stickers, or a serif font like Times New Roman for longer worded ones.

3. The kind that can be read

from 15 feet away.
Seriously, it almost doesn't matter so long as it is big enough to read.

I would say a san serif font, right off.
Bold it.
Stretch it out a bit, even.
Make the text and background contrasty.
Whatever you do, don't use curly fonts or thin serifed fonts or too many colors.

Impact is a good font.
Or Arial Bold.

and the shorter the text, the better.

6. Arial Bold....see the "T"

Some thing without Serifs....The little tails on (for instance) the letter "T" in Times New Roman. So sans serif and simple. I like Arial Bold.

7. Impact is good, so is Comic Sans, and Bank Gothic,

depends on what you need really.

I can't stand that font but what are ya gonna do? It's probably the most readable for a bumper sticker.

9. You definitely want a sans serif font

Probably in bold.

Apart from that, I think color and leading is just as important as type size and style for the bumpersticker context.

By the way, the Bush/Cheney logo for the 2004 election was much, much better designed than the Kerry/Edwards logos. Like, miles and miles better.

10. I use Ayuthaya some, but Comic Sans is very nice.

Sand is good depending on the context. My American Psycho poster used Sand. It doesn't scale well.

12. Sans sarif stops you and for short things is easy to read. Serif is

easier if you are reading a longer passage as the letters & words flow into each other.
