Is it true developers have been trying to claim that land for a long time? Knowing that majority of the people in New Orleans live below the poverty level, I find it heartless to kick those people out of their homes in order to build some high priced houses. But, it seems Katrina has begun the task of removing people from this area. When it comes time to rebuild, will they build it up with high priced homes?

I want to add that I don't think they care about any of us or any of the rest of the people of the world unless you are in their "self identified class" or can be used to further their agenda.

That being said, you are correct.

We have to do something to allow NO to decide what NO will become. I am really upset with the way this is being handled, it does not look above board to me at all but then I do not expect them to be above board.

Any ideas how we can go about supporting NO for NO?

Way I see it, we're all bugs. Us, them, black or white, US or Iraq. All bugs, all little people. They have no vested interest, they're bloodthirsty as hell, and they've clearly illustrated complete disregard for life, in all it's forms.

The only form of life they claim to care about is, oddly enough, the one form over which nature saw fit to deny them; they seek to stop women from destroying the one form of life they don't control. And that's the only form of life they care about at this point. We're to believe it's to save babies. Not an attack on women overall. Though women kill far less often then men; this is their main agenda?? This saves children?? Only the simple-minded thinks it does, and this admin preys on that.

Power. Money. Life? No, make no mistake, unless you're in that top one or two percent income bracket, you're part of the masses, worth no more than anyone in New Orleans. Top one or two percent. That's not a whole lot of us here.

That's not a whole lot of us anywhere. I just had to say it. The poor? We're all pathetically poor to these people. ALL of us.

13. Old and poor have always had trouble in this country.

You do not have to be black. Women are even in a worse place than men. I know of old women who have had to put their husbands in to homes when they could not care for them and then of course the money is gone to care for them self. One often wonders why they live longer. At one time they did not live longer but with the saving of women in child birth age this was a turn around. I think you will find that the poor also vote less so have less in power, caring what happens to them.

...still belongs to people. If they want to build million dollar homes on it then it is very valuable land and they need to pay accordingly. There needs to be a "dream team" of lawyers the likes of which we have never seen to defend these homeowners and they need to do it pro bono. Here's an opportunity for lawyers to put honor and credibility back into their profession.

Watching all the rich and famous who considered NO their home I coudn't help but wonder where they were when funds for fixing the levees were denied. They have money and they have a voice...why weren't they in Washington, talking to congress...demanding that their city be saved. I appreciate how much they have done to help the victims. But...let's hope they don't just sit back and allow their city to be turned into Disney World for the wealthy.
