Could someone please explain just how the MSM is now trying to exonerate
Bush?

As with most of DU's take on what constitutes a media conspiracy, I'm finding it hard to believe.
So, give me examples... has an anchor said "This isn't Bush's fault"?

1. They all got the talking points memo this morning
This is not unexpected, we all knew Rove was working on this. It's not going to save them this time.

2. They keep talking about "state and local" all the time
It's subtle but a constant drumbeat.

5. I just watched CBS News and they were very fare.
I don't know what people have been watching that leads them to think the MSM is being soft on Bush.

The Media doesn't come out and say it but they kind of hint toward Bush being at fault and people they interview are not shy about going after Bush hard. The facts they bring up tend to point the finger toward Bush and FEMA.

6. That's what I figured

I find so often if they even have a guest come on and say something DUErs don't agree with, all of the sudden Karl Rove is in the building, under the desk, sucking off the anchor.

7. Hey...maybe i can help...
...and you can help me? Heard on network news that the reason why its' the governors fault is because she did not specifically ask for help with evacuation. I found this letter that she wrote to ahole and at the end of the letter was this:

ENCLOSURE A TO EMERGENCY REQUEST
Estimated requirements for other Federal agency programs:
• Department of Social Services (DSS): Opening (3) Special Need Shelters (SNS) and establishing (3) on Standby. Costs estimated at $500,000 per week for each in operation.
• Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH): Opening (3) Shelters and establishing (3) on Standby. Costs estimated at $500,000 per week for each in operation.
• Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP): Providing generators and support staff for SNS and Public Shelters. Costs estimated to range from $250,000-$500,000 to support (6) Shelter generator operations.
• Louisiana State Police (LSP): Costs to support evacuations - $300,000 for a non-direct landfall.
• Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (WLF): Costs to support evacuations - $200,000 for a non-direct landfall.
• Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD): Costs to support evacuations - $2,000,000 for a non-direct landfall.

...which states costs to support evacuations....doesn't this kind of blow that away?

8. I think most are referring to the *Wolf Blitzers* /*Faux spoonfeeders*...

From my perspective, the major networks - for the most part - are finally doing what they're trained to do: seek the truth.

Let's not forget. Anderson Cooper does not *own* CNN. For every hour Cooper puts in, Wolf gets his 60 too, and he's one despicable POS. It's making people's heads virtually explode.

10. For example...
On Lou Dobbs they said the an existing emergency plan was in place but state and local officials didn't implement it. They were supposed to use city and school buses to evacuate people. Instead, buses were left in low lying areas where they were subsequently flooded and unable to be used. They said they should have moved the buses to higher ground.

Consequently, state and local officials were entirely to blame for what happened. No mention at all about the fact the feds provided nothing whatsoever for 5 days, and in fact refused help - it was the responsiblity of state and local government to respond and fix everything, not the feds.

That was the spin.

11. Thanx FormerRepublican...
I actually meant Lou Dobbs - not Wolf Blitzer - in my previous post, but you eloquently made my attempted point anyway. But what the fuck...both Lou AND Wolf are sitting in a studio, while Anderson's knee deep in death and muck. Funny how locale/location affects one's ability to *spin*...

12. I saw a strong this is *local and state Government's fault* kind of flavor
On Monday and I was PISSED at Nagin on Monday morning because he seemed to be blaming Blanco more than bush--but today I didn't get that same vibe at all from him or the media.
