Found this is my email this morning - has anyone else heard anything
about germ labs? This was from someone on a mail list I belong to:

"A caller to C-Span's morning show today said that some tough FBI guys were sent to secure a couple of government germ labs in New Orleans before the storm. They were guarding them with snipers, etc as the contents of the labs could be a major life threat. The caller didn't say whether the labs were flooded after the storm. But if this caller's claim is true and there was a risk of leakage, it would be a real good idea to get out of town.

I do know that Tulane Medical School has a department or specialty in tropical medicine. Tropical regions are where many especially nasty germs are native to. So a govt germ lab near Tulane would be logical."

3. Good question.
But who knows where ALL of the labs are. National Security and all, can't have that kind of information available to anyone but Dick Cheney.

2. They are referring to Tulane, but their generators went out.
days ago.

It is extremely likely all their cultures are dead/nonviable...

4. Almost all universities house nasty stuff
My daughter's roommate worked for the EPA at a major university. She was responsible for the security of stuff like anthax. When there was a presidential visit, all kinds of extra security went into place. It would be no surprise to me if agents were sent in to secure the labs.

5. Might want to secure the Passport office
Since more than 1/3 of the passport requests in the US are handled through the New Orleans office, the Fed Building in NO has a large pile of blank Passports.
