1. Hillary Clinton called Bush to start an investigation into what happened.
That will fix him. He either does it badly, and gets nailed for being insincere, or he chooses a proper investigation and gets nailed for his vacuum.

First responders, FEMA officials, WH emails and telephone call logs will show a line up of corporate friends and laxidaisical concern for the rescues.

2. No. The death toll, CBC and affected families will not allow for it.
The print media will also not be a part of it. Not so certain about cable, the pritn guys have had it with the lies. The New Orleans Times is normally conservative -- they have been apoplectic in their berating of the dunce and his minions. They are living the horror and they are demanding accountability!

3. They can't
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 02:31 PM by Pigwidgeon
They're going to have too much to answer for.
  • 10,000 - 50,000 deaths

  • $50-$150 billion financial losses

  • No fewer than four major scientific studies on the effects of a major hurricane on New Orleans -- one of which was done by NOAA in late 2004

  • Ignorance of their own emergency response apparatus

  • A transparent campaign of spin and lies
They have been handling everything exactly wrong. The comeuppance will not be pleasant.

4. We won't let them
We have to do everything in our power to stop them.

We have to believe that we can stop them, at least on some level, to keep us motivated to fight.

If you can, you should go to DC for the Sept 24-26 rally and events - or maybe there is something closer to you if you can't get there. It will make you feel better, and find ways to work with other people locally tro make a difference.

Never Give Up!

8. What do you mean "get away with it"? They've already DONE IT.
He's the cock of the block. With more power than ever, having used race fears to justify staging military combat operations on american soil against citizens.

10. I don't plan on sticking around in the U.S. to find out.
As soon as I get done with college in December, I'm moving abroad. I'm thinking about teaching English in Asia, Japan, Korea maybe. Any Canadian DU'ers have advice on attending grad school in Canada? I wouldn't mind doing that either.
