Did anybody hear the CNN reporter at Baton Rouge
report that the state officials practically had to invite themselves to Bush's visit to LA today? Said that they had to call Andrew Card to arrange to be with Bush. I just caught the end of it. Did anybody else hear the same thing?

1. I can't find the other post, but there was another . . .
. . . official who waited 90 minutes to speak with Bush on photo-op day, but he could never get through to him, so he left. There was an article about it . . .

8. * doesn't want to meet w/ Blanco or Nagin after Nagin yelled at him on AF1
Edited on Mon Sep-05-05 09:46 AM by CottonBear
Apparently, Nagin was ordering * and Blanco to meet together right on the plane and make a plan for the feds and the state to work together. Blanco did not want to sign over state contol over the Nat'l. Guard to *. Nagin is very frustrated and refuses to be scapegoated.

10. I read that a few Representatives couldn't even get him on the phone
It's a sad day for Democracy when members of Congress or State government officials can't talk to the President.

We need to accept the hard truth. It's not that he's stupid, he just doesn't care.
