New Orleans should convince the Arabs that Democracy is best
The superiority of our system of governance is on display for all the world to see. If this doesn't convince those pesky insurgents to lay down their arms, I don't know what will.

I am so sick of the bullshit.

1. Yes, our system of government is looking good
I cannot believe that this is happening.

2. I'm sure true democratic countries like France, Germany, and Sweden
would have sufficiently protected their citizens from this disaster.

It's only the corporate, money-infested, American-style "democracy" that fails so miserably.....

3. Fully Agree
It's not "democracy" that's the problem, it's Dick Cheney's version of "democracy" that makes the hypocrisy so stunning.

4. One of the best DU screen names EVER
Yes, this is what "democracy" looks like, why do they hate our freedoms?

5. You're very kind -
Why do they hate us? for the ability to broil for days on a rooftop with no water? for our overnight slumber parties in the big sport facilities? for the chance to sit, mezmerized by the hate screens night after night after night and then discuss it all the next day by the water cooler?

They are just jealous that they don't have such a glorious, beautiful and wise leader as our beloved George.

6. Yep.
One can only hope people finally see through the bullshit our government spins about being the best the world has to offer. The free market bullshit we basically have forced upon central and south american countries has been nothing but horrible for them, and when someone like Chavez finally speaks out about it, we try our best to off him.

If being a superpower makes your government awesome, then I suppose we should revert back to Germany, 1942. Oh wait, we're already heading that way, aren't we?

7. Reminds me of this quote
"The only difference between the chaos of New Orleans and a Third World disaster operation, he said, was that a foreign dictator would have responded better."
