With the obscene profits of the oil companies and their
admitting the have so much money they don't know what to do with it all, you would think they would have some spare change laying around to help the citizens of New Orleans*. Even a few million donated would do wonders for their image. All I hear from that direction are crickets.

*You will notice that flooded city has a name that can be spelled out. It's not that hard, really.

1. I am sure they could have ponied up some money for levee
repair since their frigging livlihood depends on the safety of this area.... but then there I go thinking again.... and btw, aren't donations TAX DEDUCTABLE??? If they told the wh that they wanted the levees fixed, they most certainly would have been. Yes, they have that much power.

2. Here's what BP's been doing:
Their advertising on CNN has increased. Did anyone else notice that just about every other commercial break is that BP commercial?

6. There's one of the oil people on CSPAN now explaining the hardship
the oil industry is in now and how the free market should be allowed to just correct the situation.

7. I just thought of something...
What if they don't want the refineries in Louisiana to be made operational again. More shortages and higher prices that would further drive this country into being a 3rd world country. The 1%'ers and the destitute. Kinda like Saudi Arabia without the sand.

8. ExxonMobil DID donate $2 million, which is nice, but not enough.
But what I'd like to see is an easing of the price of gasoline. I know I won't see it, but I'd like to.
