17. when it comes down to it-the FEDS did not take this seriously, then when
some of the horrible pics started coming out, they sprang into action--this action got the military finally out but part of the strategy was to improve the image of the government/bush!

the channel markers across the delta are wiped out, folks. Big ships can't get in close to shore or up the river. Where the markers are in place, the storm has formed new sandbars and other hazards
