...all the concerned citizens massed near the city finally have HAD ENOUGH....and MAKE the FEMAgatekeepers. etc., let them and their various vehicles by, into New Orleans, where they fan out and bring the needed aid/transport to those who remain. Including the 'convention center'.

Oh, dear.... those almost sound like insurrection-ish sentiments... don't they?

1. You aren't the only one.

My wife and I have discussed loading up the Astrovan with supplies and aiming me at NO. At the Dome, I would drop off supplies pick up survivors and find some solid fellow to drive the van out. My rationale for that is I am fresh, well fed and hydrated. I can handle a week in the barrel, whereas the driver may not. I can get 8 people out this way. Doing this would involve modest risk and a considerable financial burden ... but not doing this might prove hard to live with later. We are still discussing.

Fuck it. I say, let's go get our people. We're Americans, goddammit!

Would the guards cold-bloodedly shoot down citizens for trying to drive in and rescue the remaining trapped residents?
