6. The lady asking for donations just gave an estimate of the costs
During an interlude, they asked for monetary support. She said the current estimate is $26 billion for insured losses and about twice that (ie. $52 billion) in uninsured losses. That doesn't begin to add in the costs to the federal government. This is probably going to exceed $100 billion when all is said and done.

Why do people feel they have to get something out if it beyond the satisfaction of doing something to assist someone else?
