1. OK, on the flipside...
If he's out in the next month or two, that will be plenty of time for him to author and release a book JUST prior to the next election.

:)

11. left a breech open for 3 months
He knew that what nofacts exposed was true. Why did he not expose the fact that a key component of our defenses, in the war on terror, had been breeched.

And Assman should invoke whatever measures to prosecute a traitor who aids and abets the enemy in this war on terror.

2. but, but
... why wasn't he sacked after 9/11? surely that was a bigger threat to Tenet's career than this.

5. Because
Tenet has the goods on the BFEE. As well as its operatives like Rove. This is Washington war between the spooks and the spooky.

6. Hell, they NEED him
They blamed 9/11, the WMD lies, and the Iraqi nuclear weapons lies on the CIA. And he just took it.

9. I think Bush is going to be the one that goes
Tenet is smart enough to know to never take a shot at the king if you don't kill him. I think Tenet believes Bush is finished politically. Or he would have never went as far as he has. Thats my take.

10. Tenet is bullet-proof
How can they fire Tenet without looking like they are trying to cover up or take retribution. Tenet started this whole scandal. Probably out of self-protection. What better job security?

12. Speculations, speculations...
There is no way in hell that this investigation is going to harm Bush himself. I am sure Papa Bush still has connections in the CIA and would not let any harm come to the Bushbaby from that direction.

Like somebody already noted, Tenet has taken a lot of abuse, but in return was never held accountable for his share of the 9/11 responsibility. You would think that Tenet and Bush have an understanding.

Also consider the 6 month time span between the leak and the request for an investigation. I don't know what is considered normal, but it seems a long time to me.

The more I think about this, the more I have to agree with the ones that suspect this to be just another clever diversion from issues that might do more harm to Bush's popularity ratings.

13. dumb
the initial reactions by the Bushies were dumbfounded. they had no idea this was coming, they thought they suppressed the story back in july, when their allies in the media and congress sat on the screaming accusations by Wilson.

i tend to agree with the Tenet theories. whether this will result in a big Bush fish getting fried is debatable. i definitely do not think tenet will get canned. he's, in all likelihood, got way too much dirt on the WH. if the Bushies were gonna can him, they would have done it when the conservative media was calling for his head over the summer.

there's no way the WH did this on purpose. it's not good for them. i think the CIA and Tenet are looking at payback over Nigergate.
