Bush's "Anti Cindy" strays from script; has nothing but empathy for Cindy
Pruetts “Totally Empathize” With Cindy Sheehan

Think Progress: "Conservatives took President Bush’s cue yesterday and turned the spotlight on Tammy Pruett, an Iraq mom whose husband and five sons have all served in Iraq. Under the headline, “Move Over, Cindy: Bush Singles Out Other Military Mom,” Matt Drudge said that Bush had taken “direct aim at Cindy Sheehan” when he highlighted Pruett during his speech to Idaho National Guardsmen.

But last night, when Tammy and her husband Leon appeared on CNN, they weren’t exactly reading from President Bush’s script: read on"

Did Bush fly all the way to Idaho just so he could line up an alternate to Cindy? Sure looks that way. I have to say that their response to Cindy was very dignified and you could sense the love they feel for their own children. The Pruett's and Cindy are not pawns and shouldn't be treated as such. Someone like "The Eggman" only sees these families as a means to an end.

Ellis Henican writes: "All of a sudden, a new front has opened in the war for Iraq - the battle of American military moms. It's Tammy versus Cindy. It's stay-the-course against come-home-soon. It's American mom against American mom.

President George W. Bush's political advisers, who have been so adept at defining political realities, were uncharacteristically slow to get their hands around this one. Cindy Sheehan and her anti-war supporters got a better-than-two-week head start...read on"

1. Does anybody but me think Bush played the wrong cards this time?
I mean by meeting with one mother and snubbing another shows his true character. It's really got to start backfiring big time once people think about it.

Impeach the bastard!

5. Desperate measures by desperate people
Cindy has come to represent the truth we are asking for.
Her mission has nothing to do with the war any more.
It is all about Bush and the Truth!

2. Bush fucked up big time with these folks
from watching them the support TODAY,,, but IMHO that could change if for example one of their children died in an unarmored Huvee (sp).

3. It is so strange
I find it so hard to believe that there are people out there being pro-war. What has happened to the people in this country, the neo-cons love killing and hating. Now they are hating Americans that are expressing their right to free speech, and protest. The are so willing to confront and spread their hate message to all Americans.

7. They live in a fantasy world....
where Americans are the good guys, so it's not bad when we kill/torture
people. That's why so few are willing to enlist: Reality might intrude in
the form of a bullet.

These people have zero self-esteem. The only way they can feel
good about themselves is by saying, "I'm an American, not a ______".
Criticism of the actions of the American goverment feels personal to them
because the have so little else going for them.

15. I got the impression that they ...
...just HAVE to believe (desperately need to believe) that their kids are there for a good reason ... I don't think the woman can tolerate the belief that there is no noble cause that her kids are risking their lives for ...

31. I think there are many people like this
If they find out their saintly president has lied their entire world will fall apart. Some in the religious right think they finally god their man in the white house. I think, almost idolize him. If their idol is proven a liar or a fraud they'll just lose all faith in life itself. It's really quite sad.

I think Mrs. Pruett thinks it's a "there but for the grace of God go I" kind of thing. I'm sure what Cindy has gone through is her worst nightmare, and it would shock me if she allowed herself to become a Bush attack dog.

What a tragedy, though, that Bush is poking and goading and trying to pit decent people against one another - especially decent people who have children fighting his wars, and dying in them. He's an obscene son-of-a-bitch who disgraces the very air he breathes.

18. But Neecy, if you think about it
that's all Rove and Bush has done -- pit us against one another.

Think back to election 2004: gay marriage, etc.

28. oh, absolutely
He's done everything in his power to divide us as a nation - that's been their script from the beginning.

You'd think some things would be sacred, though - like mothers who have or had children in Iraq. You'd think he'd keep his filthy paws off of them, show the proper respect, and not manipulate people like the Pruetts. That this strutting fake cowboy has to hide behind the skirts of a Mrs. Pruett is beyond contempt - he's not a man, he's not a decent person, and he's certainly not a "Christian".

I hate him until I'm weary of the hatred, but just when I think he's gone as low as he can, he scrapes the bottom of the barrel just a little bit more.

Your magic is however, weak to say the least.
My reality based observations pierce right through your limp "reality" constructs.

I will now perform a pagan ritual that will banish you back to the fantasy world of your own thoughts where you shall surely poison yourself to death.

So Mote It Be!

12. Next?
They can exploit the Qualls man but he doesn't give good face and comes off as uneducated and over the top. He won't have the mileage that Cindy will and they know that. He polled strictly FOX news type and they already own that demographic.

Enter stage left Tammy Pruett. A mother with all four of her sons serving in Iraq. She's a gentle and likeable person. However, she may support the war but is willing to admit empathetic feelings for Cindy, while her husband said he had nothing against the protesters.

For some reason I don't think this is working out the way it was planned.

Why can't they find a marketable face with a gentle personality that's lost their child to the war and is thrilled about it? That's all they're asking for.

14. She's a Mom. She deserves respect for her labors.
I pray that world of hurt passes her by. But if it doesn't. I have a shoulder for her to cry. She's not the enemy peopele. She's a Mom just like Cindy. She deserves the same respect that all Mothers should be given. They both deserve the same respect of the First Mother who's Son was executed by The Republic to preserve government lies against The Word of Truth. When their great labors are done. Peace be with all Mothers. They are the gate through which the worlds future generations shall pass. Bless them one and all.

The Pruetts appear to be torn, which is no surprise. I'm sure all families who have kids in Iraq who supported Bush's war have some cognitive dissonance.
