1. I answer back with...
Germany was the #1 industrial power in Europe, with the worlds largest air force and army... modern, well trained, loyal to thier country, and created many of the innovations that we still use today.

Iraq was a 3rd world country that happened to be sitting on a oil field. Saddam needed to have another army to protect him from his regular army. He had no air force, no navy, no industry... there is no comparison.

2. They are sure trying hard to make it like WW2
Sorry but it does not seem to be working. They should really look at how some one like Tito worked if they wish to make it seem like WW2. They also seem to forget that the war took out Japan and Germany and then we re-built it with their help. Here the country was not really out of the picture and we seem to have taken out the country AFTER the war. Crazy

4. If it's WWII then let the gas rationing begin.
Lets declare price controls and start asking people of all income levels to sacrifice. Lets fire up the draft lottery and start taking everyone regardless of their family connections.

7. to paraphrase Richard Clarke...
But, FDR didn't invade Mexico after Pearl Harbor was invaded, though!
He asked Congress for a declaration of war against Japan, the country that perpetrated Pearl Harbor. Then, when Japan's ally, Germany, declared war on the US, we declared war on Germany in return.

8. And the Republicans were the ones who wanted to keep out
of the war.

Weren't the Dems in charge, and there were a bunch of "isolationists" who fought FDR's involvement?
