My comments to CNN
Here's what I've written to CNN about their show 'Dead Wrong'. While I did softball it a bit, I feel it's fair to give credit to them where due.

Flame me if you must...

Thank you for showing 'Dead Wrong' tonight. I appreciate that you gathered so much information about the 'intelligence' of why we went to war in Iraq.

There is so much blather about liberal vs conservative media these days and I applaud the fact that you were able to report the facts and not necessarily give in to one side over the other. I do think more in-depth reporting could have been done so as not to leave so many questions un-addressed.

There is now no good way to end this debacle in Iraq, save for pulling out of Iraq completely. We're too far into this quagmire; we are quickly approaching 2,000 killed US soldiers. But your reporting of the some of the verifiable pertinent facts to the run-up of the war is excellent.

I feel it is high time that main-stream media address how/why we entered into Iraq and who the players are that put us there. There are still many questions unanswered and I call upon CNN, after starting with 'Dead Wrong', to provide a follow-up with more information.

Thank you.

1. Here is my problem
why do we have to write a letter to a media outlet to thank them for doing their job?

This is not meant as a flame against you, but it is like the battered wife, who when the husband does "one" nice thing, she is "so grateful", in spite of the years of constant beating

3. Try to think of the media as the battered wife.
Might let you see it differently.

10. Not really. They pretty much "do as they are told", IMHO.
I don't buy the "lazy press" scenario. Some of them, yes, are not true journalists and don't care about investigation. But certainly not ALL. I think there are plenty of good journalists left who'd like to be able to do what they were trained for, rather than propagandize.

8. Two reasons.

One is that positive reinforcement is needed (along with negative) to "train" them. Neglecting either is counterproductive.

The second is that if we never say anything good about them, they can fall into the mentality of "there's just no pleasing those people, so don't bother."

It is pretty sad, yes, that it took this long for the MSM to start doing what they are supposedly payed for. But you have to work with the materials available.

2. Very good. Polite and encouraging.
Mine was much along the same lines...thanking them and politely suggesting what they might want to cover in follow ups.

What do you bet they get nothing but expletives from the Freeps?

6. I'm sure the freeptards
are loosing their minds over this show. Or requesting talking points about how to rebut every item mentioned.

However, I do think, as horrible as the thought is, that we commend them for this type of reporting. No MSM outlet has really taken charge in this manner and I think it best to take the high road and let them know that we appreciate their efforts and ask that they go more in-depth. Just my thoughts...

11. I gave them a pat on the back,too
Even if it is late, you know it took balls to show that program. If they are overwhelmed by positive emails, maybe it will encourage them to do more investigative reporting....
