Why did I do it?! Listened to Limbaugh... he said WE'RE scandal-oriented!
He said LIBERALS are "scandal-oriented"!!! He said we "manufacture" these things!!

The liberal caller he actually let on the air couldn't get a word in (after being put on hold through a commercial break and told to wait to have his say). I heard him incredulously cry "for 8 years...!" (as we all would), but Limbaugh just cut him off.

He said there's no "proof" a crime has been committed, much less that the White House was involved. Since when does there have to be "proof" to launch an investigation, or to make it a scandal? If that were the case, there'd be no need for trials... Rove would already be in handcuffs. There were plenty of scandals pushed by the apparently "non-scandal-oriented" Right, and the entire U.S. Media, for 8 years. But there was very little evidence.

"Proof"? Well, not yet. But there's plenty of "evidence" to merit an investigation. Evidence like NBC, Time and Robert Novak all claiming that someone at the White House outed a C.I.A. agent for political purposes. Plus, sources inside the White House, according to the Washington Post, verifying that this was done, and it was done for political purposes. Sounds to me like plenty of evidence, not only that a crime was committed, but that someone in the White House was responsible.

Besides, it is Bush's own Attorney General, and C.I.A., that have determined that this merits an investigation... not "liberals" who "manufacture" scandals and are "scandal-oriented".

Before this, he cut the guy off again to go to the Aschcroft press conference, and I thought... "What?! Limbaugh is actually going to do something that remotely resembles NEWS!?!"

Of course, no such thing happened. As soon as he cut to it, a reporter asked "Why did you decide not to appoint an independent counsel?" He didn't even wait for Ashcroft's response. Limbaugh just laughed at the top of his lungs! Then, you (barely) heard Aschcroft ending his answer, which was, basically "This is an ongoing criminal investigation, and we will therefore not comment on it". Then he shouted (again over Aschcroft speaking) "SCREW YOU!", implying that's what the AG was telling the reporter.

Limbaugh took this as an opportunity to launch into a rant about how, apparently, "liberals HATE decisiveness!!" It's "one of the many things he's learned about liberals over the years". Now forget that that reporter might have been from Fox or the American Spectator, for all he knew, and that the question was a legitimate one by any standards, given that many elected representatives have been calling for an independent investigation in the last day or two. What I want to know is this: When Clinton spokespersons over the years refused comment, citing an ongoing investigation, did Limbaugh praise the Clinton administration for its "decisiveness"?
