11. Yeah... they are using stamps.com as a partner..
You can actually make photo stamps right now through stamps.com. But I'd like to offer them in a store. I was hoping to make some for Sibel Edmonds, but stamps.com is little more picky about what photographic images they will allow of other people on stamp designs than cafepress.com is (who with their products now will allow them if proper permission is obtained).

and find some my and her time to take a pic of Sibel there, and that still might not be good enough in terms of their criteria of "who" they will allow pictures of (known celebrities, political figures, etc.). I thought about having her contact them directly to give permission, but I'd like avoid her wasting time on that. I can't believe they won't let certain people be able to put their own picture on a stamp because they are well known.

Here's the terms and conditions that are currently on stamps.com what is permitted and not to be used with their stamps. Not sure if cafepress.com will use these conditions verbatum (since they are partnering with them), or if they can have their own which might be a little looser (like they currently have for other products).

In particular is the following item that might be a problem and pretty broad-brushed for people that want to do more and just have family pictures in their stamps:

...
B. To upload, order for print, or otherwise transmit or communicate any material that depicts celebrities or celebrity likenesses, regional, national or international leaders or politicians, current or former world leaders, convicted criminals, newsworthy, notorious or infamous images and individuals, or any material that is vintage in appearance or depicts images from an older era;
...

I'm just curious. I think it's an interesting phenomenon, and I'm curious to know more than I do.

18. Does anyone actually make money from selling through
Cafe Press? I put this one together for the pet rescue group that I volunteer with, but I'm wondering if I would be better off printing them up and selling them myself. :shrug:

19. Some cafepressers probably do okay.
Like some of the popular web sites that use cafepress as an outlet for their gear.

By the way, members get bulk discounts. Bumper stickers, for example, are $1.94 apiece, for a minimum of 15 stickers in one design.

20. Here Are A Few Of My Designs That I Have Posted There
There are tons more at the site. Link is below if you are interested...

I have a few bumper stickers. But My stuff works a lot better on t-shirts, posters, etc.

And No I do not make much money at all. I just broke even on a single two week web ad I took out months ago. But, like others have noted. A little rolls in and lets me get some stuff for myself.

More than anything,it lets people that really want the stuff get it. A lot of people used to comment that they's love a shirt of this graphic or that. So not I can make them available to folks that dig and want to share the message. I have also had some great folks ask me for custom work which is usually pretty cool.
