"Release facts on Roberts


President Bush and his administration want a speedy confirmation for John Roberts to the Supreme Court. They are already gearing up the rhetoric to blame the Democrats as obstructionists if Democrats protest at all.

Yet, as usual, Bush won't release all the documents the Democrats request. They are hiding some information about his most important work in the solicitor general's office during the first Bush presidency.

They also won't release Roberts' income tax records. The reason Bush has trouble with his nominees is that he chooses people he has to lie about. If he really cared about the nation, wouldn't he nominate qualified people with nothing to hide, rather than ideologue friends with big secrets and shifty answers? Or is he just so used to people believing his lies that he no longer cares what Americans think?"
