I miss Maureen Dowd's Sunday articles.
Was it the wingnuts that decided to plunge her into obscurity?

4. She is writing a book.
Also I believe her mother recently passed away. She will be back, but I'm not sure when. If you haven't already, read "Bushworld". It's delightful and it'll hold you over until she's back! I miss her columns, too. :)

6. I have the book and it is great.
But it was my understanding that her column was moved and she will no longer be writing her Sunday articles. ?

5. The thing I like most about Dowd
is the fact she attacks hypocracy and decite wherever she see's it...

I didn't like what she said about Gore and Clinton, but it was well reasoned and provactive...

A very good satarist, indeed...

9. She will be published Wednesdays and Saturdays
in the NYTimes when she returns from book leave.

If you want to read her special column from last week about her mother,
see http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/24/weekinreview/24dowd.html?
Check out the photo. It's amazing how much they looked alike.

10. you mean like the lies about Hillary's 'bridal registry' or Gore's sweater

Dowd is a hack whose only real talent resides in an occassionally clever bit buried in a mountain of crap.

Edit- the only thing dowd really cares about is using her press credentials for getting party invitations and making enough money to get cosmetic surgery and fashionable clothing.

11. Info on Dowd
I couldn't find any info about the change her schedule, but here's some other things I found.

Here's the article she wrote about her mom dated July 24, 2005
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/07/24/weekinreview/24dowd.html

On the Times Op-Ed page they have her listed on a Wed/Sat. schedule. Her page says she is on a book leave.

I found this piece published today.

I don't know what the reference to Ellen Goodman is at the bottom of the page...don't get it.

I found one piece dated the 6th of July that said she was due back in two weeks., but then her mom passed away.

• Two weeks are left till Maureen Dowd returns from book leave. We’re pretty agnostic on that, but we’re psyched to see that her final pinch-pontificator is Sarah Vowell.
http://www.gawker.com/news/media/media-bubble-sometimes-rich-people-buy-magazine-companies-111372.php

An article dated the 17th of July said: "Bozeman-raised author Sarah Vowell has been writing liberal opinion columns for the New York Times, filling in for three weeks while columnist Maureen Dowd finishes her book. "

12. Thanks for the research.
I guess it is Tuesdays and Saturdays with no sinister motives, even though I'm certain I had read some accusatory remarks when she first left the Sunday edition.
Wonder what will be the topic of the new book? Something tells me it is not a cook book. ;)
