Today's CoinGate stories
I am fascinated by these stories -they lay bare the level of hubris and arrogance that is bred with one-party rule - esp with the corporate party - where govt money is viewed as theirs for the taking.

It is starting to look like a slush fund was established of a sort. The stories are hard to keep track of - as it is unwinding so quickly. It is worth following closely.

These are the stories that are most recent, and at least to my read have new info:

"COIN-GATE"
White touted Bush ties to help get federal post
Now he investigates GOP, Noe

{key story line - the US Attorney investigating the Taft admin, needed Taft rec.s and ties to get his appointment}

Online gaming exec gained state audience
Documents show key figures engaged in lobbying

from the story:
Even after issuing stock to some of the most influential Ohioans - including Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett and Brian Hicks, Governor Taft's former chief of staff - Mr. Ach was unsuccessful in convincing the state to put its lottery online.

The Blade first reported on Wednesday that Tom Noe, the former Toledo-area coin dealer under investigation, invested at least $150,000 of the state's money with the company.

Supreme Court puts Petro on notice
Facing possible contempt citation, official must explain failure to release coin data

{summary: Court aggravated that Petro has defied their order to release documents - releasing only 3 boxes of an estimated 120 boxes - and has given Petro's office a deadline of Monday for an argument explaining why they shouldn't be held in contempt.}

Thick web.

Last weekend I tried to tease together some of the level of fraud that have been disclosed so far. Will try to write a summary (pulling from different disclosures in different news items.) The problem is that there is SO much coming - that it is hard to keep track and weave back together into a single story in order to start getting a more clear picture of what was going on. Why is it important? I would bet that there are many other similar schemes with other "fund managers" of state money in Ohio - as Noe got down to business so quickly (skimming money off the top and immediately funneling some back to party interests and candidates) - and that even after losing money - a second huge investment was made? There is, to my mind, a bigger story that goes up the totem pole from Noe lurking behind this story.

6. not coingate or noe - but another case of BWC being defrauded
Chiropractor, assistant convicted of pushing prescription pills

CLEVELAND - A chiropractor and his assistant have been convicted of illegally peddling more than 400,000 doses of prescription drugs over six years to unsuspecting patients, many of whom eventually became hooked on the drugs.

snip

Investigators found nearly $200,000 in fraudulent claims to the BWC and $90,000 to Medicare.

Not related ... but right now - keeping an eye on all schemes... just never know how things might later seem to be related or not.

7. An interesting side note
Early in the investigation one of the Ohio higher-ups,dismissed 5 dem judges from investigating any of this bullshit because of "possible" partisan conflict.

9. I personally strongly believe
that all of the cases going on in Ohio are tied together to the election of last year. If you uncover one of them you will the other.
