Reporters Fitz thinks may have been contacted by the WH:
For those of you who are interested:

This is all rather old news, of course, but some of you asked, so here it is:

Fitz reportedly sent the White House a subpoena seeking all White House records reflecting contacts with the following reporters for the period between February 2002 through the end of 2003 that related to Wilson's trip and Plame:

Robert Novak, "Crossfire," "Capital Gang" and the Chicago Sun-Times
Knut Royce and Timothy M. Phelps, Newsday
Walter Pincus, Richard Leiby, Mike Allen, Dana Priest and Glenn Kessler, The Washington Post
Matthew Cooper, John Dickerson, Massimo Calabresi, Michael Duffy and James Carney, Time magazine
Evan Thomas, Newsweek
Andrea Mitchell, "Meet the Press," NBC
Chris Matthews, "Hardball," MSNBC
Tim Russert, Campbell Brown, NBC
Nicholas D. Kristof, David E. Sanger and Judith Miller, The New York Times
Greg Hitt and Paul Gigot, The Wall Street Journal
John Solomon, The Associated Press
Jeff Gannon, Talon News

Interesting, eh? I would think Rove figured many, if not most, would give it a receptive hearing.

6. Will the White House male prostitute kiss and tell?
Inquiring minds do want to know. Not the sex, sleaze angle -- but the treason, traitor, betray America part. So dish the dirt, you so-called news organs.

7. Just Posted On The Other Thread...Thank-You...Clip Out Material
This is a good list of whom this regime thinks is friendly and they could plant a story and feel confident their scheme would not be exposed (like so many times before), or that could be easily duped into planting a fraudulent story.

That's a lot larger list than I expect...just imagine all the conflicting stories all those people could be telling the grand jury...

:bounce:

11. I don't think they're all complete toadies.
Pincus, for example, is a CIA shill, not a BFEE puppet. I can't see the list as I post this, but if Cooper's on it (he should be), he isn't carrying Rove's water for him either. I'd bet there are others as well who aren't totally complicit. I think these inclusions make the whold business a little more interesting: Just what did the WH think they were doing, anyway?

13. Good point. I think these are contacts, period.
The thing to keep in mind is who contacted whom. Rove apparently cold-called Chris Matthews, for example. Must of figured that Chris would get his spittle worked up over what Rove had to say.

It's pretty easy to differentiate the Republican tools from the unbiased people.

14. I Agree On Pincus
I don't think all. I heard Pincus interviewed and he said his source hasn't released him from saying publicly, but that he testified to the Grand Jury. I have a lot of respect for this man's reporting...and he's one I was refering to that could have been duped with fraudulent info...a difference from a Miller who we both can agree took this stuff by the buckets and couldn't peddle it fast enough.

Pincus has the best insight into the CIA of anyone and I could tell he was not a happy camper to be dragged into this...not that he was any friend of this regime. If anything, I think he represents the mindset of the intelligence community.

Cooper I'm still not as solid as you are on. While he didn't roll over on the petard for Rove, he was willing to go into the can just the same until his Publisher called his bluff.

Cheers...

10. They may have had to go to this many people to find someone who
would say yes -

however -

I believe all those calls were to set up the plot to manufacture 'proof' that 'it was common knowledge that Plame was an undercover agent'.
