You all know what this London bombing is also going to mean....
1. We WON'T be hearing any more about Judith Miller and Matt Cooper for the rest of the week.

2. We WON'T be hearing about the Army giving Halliburton a $5 BILLION contract AT ALL.

3. We WON'T be hearing about Bush's mishaps and miscues on that bicycle, where he wiped out a Scottish police officer.

4. We WON'T be hearing about Karl Rove and Bob Novak leaking Valerie Plame to Miller and Cooper, nor its legal ramifications.

5. We WON'T be hearing about the missing Navy Seals in Afghanistan, or the military personnel who were shot down trying to rescue them.

6. We WON'T be hearing about the corruption in the Ohio state government, where state funds were used to buy coins and other high-priced doo-dads.

7. We WON'T be hearing about that cow in Texas that came up with Mad Cow disease in November 2004, and only NOW has this info come to light, most likely because the beef industry wanted it covered up. At least Taiwan had enough sense to ban imported American beef...

8. We WON'T be hearing about Capitol Hill trying to push legislation that punishes any state that takes advantage of the Supreme Court ruling on "eminent domain" from a couple of weeks ago.

9. We WON'T be hearing about Florida prosecutors being able to seize some of Rush Limbaugh's medical records in their attempt to nail him on doctor shopping charges.

10. We WON'T be hearing about the riots that occurred in both Scotland and Denmark while Bush was in both countries. The ones in Scotland were particularly nasty!

No, the American Pravda has a new distraction for the American sheeple this weekend: All London bombings, ALL THE TIME!

Randi Rhodes said it best: "The news has been cancelled!"

But you better believe the Rove/Cheney/Poppy Bush triumvirate is going to make damn sure the American Pravda treat it as such!

12. It is worthy of coverage, but it's not like it has not happened before.
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 09:36 AM by linazelle
It happened in Madrid on a larger scale. There was not as much coverage as we are seeing now. Why?

I am not unsympathetic. Too many innocent people are dying because of the ineffectiveness of our leaders--in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Madrid, in London...

Everything else should not be wiped off the front pages because of tragedies like this which will continue to happen BECAUSE of the things that are being wiped off the front pages. It's a vicious cycle.

That's why you didn't see nearly as much coverage.....

It's a simple as that......

Tou have to have a translator in order too interview people from the government or the senor or senora on the street....

...that's another reason why London is getting so much attention (as it should), and Madrid was treated as an afterthought.

3. you are dead on - but careful
not to be labeled as a kook, even by some here for not groveling at the foot of this tragedy long enough.

I am 100% with you on this. I don't think it was "manufactured" to cover anything up, but I certainly do believe it will be used like 9/11 was/is ad nauseum:

"EVERYTHING's changed since 9/11" will now be

"EVERYTHING's changed since G8/05" or whatever catchy thing they'll call it.

15. No, not big enough for that
> "EVERYTHING's changed since G8/05" or whatever

This will "merely" be a detail like the Madrid bombing, a sad reminder
that ordinary civilians can be murdered or maimed even in the "safe"
countries of the West.

It will get coverage, it will be blended into political arguments
all over the show but this particular event was never intended to
be a "second September 11th" ... more like a "just when you thought
it was safe ..."

28. When are they going to start carpet bombing Ireland?
I wish the racism and religious jingoisms could be also separated from this. These elements are often used as a fog in counter intelligence

OPERATION GLADIO

ITALY

1947 Origins of Gladio

1974 British "Gladio" visit to Italy

Gladio "counterparts in Britain, where the plan was given the name
Operation Stay Behind, visited Italy in 1974, according to a senior Italian
intelligence official." (Richard norton-Taylor & David Gow, Guardian,
17/11/90)

1974-79 P2 and US involvement with Gladio?

"Declassified secret service papers reveal that Ted Shackleton, deputy
chief of the CIA station in Rome in the 1970's introduced the notorious
Licio Gelli - head of the neo-fascist P2 masonic lodge and for years a
fugitive in Argentina - to General Alexander Haig, then Nixon's chief of
staff, and later, from 1974 to 79, Nato Supreme Commander. P2 was a
right-wing shadow government, ready to take over Italy, that included four
Cabinet Ministers, all three intelligence chiefs, 48 MPs, 160 military
officers, bankers, industrialists, top diplomats and the Army Chief of
Staff. After meetings between Gelli, Italian military brass and CIA men
in the embassy, Gladio was given renewed blessing - and more money - by
Haig and the then head of the National Security Council, Henry Kissinger.
Just how those and later funds were spent is a key point in the
investigation." (William Scobie, Observer, 18/11/90)

37. In the interview of him about this bombing......
one his comments was that the meeting will go on and of which particular words he had being "Conclusions will conclude". To me this is the same as saying that 'Our rhetoric will now bear fruit', this the ceremony of holding on to ones ill gotten piece of the pie. He might very well be a breed of weasel but he would never be able to get away with it without the triangulations of the sides that wish to cling privilege and power and others who are scared and hope it doesn't get worse.

lots of tell tale clues that don't ad up. As for a group of people emanating from one nation doing things like don't seem so likely anymore to from where I am looking. The weasel and chimp don't seem like any powerful men to me but more of a kind of over-extended puppets having been handed down duties from an oligarch. They are actually not allowed to make any real decisions. Their real duty is disseminate orders and disinformation after the target audience has been pummeled and worked up to it

the flim-flam, presto-chango, we've got Paris, or Cruise, or Jackson, or Aruba, or Schiavo..... or or or whatever!!

They're going to have to COVER some NEWS!!

But I'll still be watching "alternative" for the most part. My "gag' reflexes can't take MSM.

My husband who is attending a funeral in another part of Florida called me the day before yesterday and told me we had a hurricane coming our way. I DIDN'T know!!! Why, he asked. I told him I haven't been watching those stations anymore so I guess I'm out of the loop.

I thanked him for the "heads-up" and turned to my LOCAL channel! Ain't that a SAD story????

19. You may not hear as much, but the Palme mess is now a steam roller.
Watergate did not happen because of press coverage, the Grand Jury nailed that one, Woodward and Bernstein mainly reported what the Grand Jury was hearing as leaked by Mr. Felt. Press coverage will not take down Rove/Bush/Cheney alone, and our musing on the internet will not hasten the fall. Remember when Agnew fell it was a major surprise. There are more surprises ahead.

As far as this attack is concerned I am willing to wait for the facts. There are going to lots of questions how this one was also missed, and I am sure a lot of spin.

The news may be put on hold but the avalanche is rumbling.

This may have happened due to Bush and Blair LYING US INTO AN Immoral and Illegal war where we slaughter Muslims Every single day with a bare mention.

If nothing more, the terrorists are joining the PR wars created by Bush and the Media and want a higher profile, being ready and willing to kill for it.
