Chuck Todd said that when Clinton's ratings took a nose dive
Edited on Wed Sep-24-03 06:16 PM by CatWoman
he took his case to the American people, and started appearing more on television.

He says this strategy has to be in the back of Rove's mind.

Well George Bush is NO Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton spoke English, thank you very much.

Plus, Clinton's policies were working. Bush's policies not only suck, but they are not popular with mainstream America.

And, every time Bush opens his mouth, he turns more and more people off.

4. I see him regularly on Washington Journal
and he's always rooting for the Republicans.

To me, any way.

But I'd love to see that coward Bush stop hiding behind his "spokesmen" and state his case to the American people.

We can only benefit from it.

5. bush has taken his case to the American people...
twice in the past month. Once when he asked for 87B, which didn't impress anybody. Then he in essence addressed the American people at this UN speech yesterday. Again, a great big old yawn. He can hardly go two or three lines without a smirking.

Think of his reps per set!

He hasn't had a month-long vacation in weeks!

I hope they pur his coked-out, bonedry, stupid little brain on a whirlwind tour.

Hell, has a President just ever quit?

11. Worth saying again: oh god I HOPE they try this. Could they really
...be that STOOOOOOOOPID? Oh, please let them try it.

Cause you can only have so many scripted press conferences before the press starts throwing turds at you. Even the one was pushing it--I DON'T think that worked out so great for the Flying Chimp. And oh my god does the Simian Pseudo-Aviator work so hard at cramming his Nikes between the ol' presidential mandibles whenever he opens his mouth impromptu. "Bring 'em on," George!

Course his handlers are terrified of letting him get out in public in any way that isn't strictly controlled. There's no way they're going to try this, more's the pity.
