(City Hall-WABC, June 28, 2005) — The White House lending its political muscle to boost the New York City's Olympic bid. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is at City Hall offering herself as a personal ambassador for the bid.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice stood by the Mayor this morning at City Hall. She's offered to be the personal ambassador for New York City's bid to host the 2012 Olympics.

New York's emissaries are preparing their trip to Singapore where on July 6th the decision will be announced by the International Olympic Committee. They decide who will pick the bid and house the Olympics.

Rice wanted to personally pitch New York at the Singapore meeting but had to cancel. (Note: Since she is currently needed here to tie 9/11 into Iraq all over the airwaves.) Even so the Secretary of State's decision to back New York City some say sends a strong message that the 2012 Olympics, belongs here.

5. New York's chances of hosting the 2012 Summer Olympics

are slim at best. I'd put my money on Paris or London.

Vancouver is hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics and the IOC usually doesn't award Olympics to the same continent twice in a row.

Besides hopefully Condasleeza will be in jail by 2012.
