3. Yikes! I had a friend who had a 12-pounder
and THAT baby was induced 3 weeks early so he wouldn't be too big to deliver! :scared:

Me, I needed medical assistance to deliver my kids, who were a mere 6 and 7 pounds at birth.

4. The first child of a good friend of mine
weighed just under 14 pounds at birth and was 25 inches long - he looked like he was about 3 months old as a newborn.

She went on to have two more children over the course of the next five years, which I thought was brave of her, all things considered.

6. I just saw this kid on TV ... and WOW
HUGE baby ... who came out of a very average-sized woman. Ouch is right! And both of the infant's older sisters were at least 12 pounds at birth, I think they said. The mother said this is her last child.

Well done, Mom! Happy healing.

Ow. Ow. Ow.

And I say that as someone who delivered two 8 lb.-plus babies, one of which was wedged and ... I'll spare the details ...

9. Ouch! My first was 9 lbs. 14 oz. and 23 inches long
The nurses in the OR gasped when the Dr. pulled him out (c-section).

He's 5' 11' now and just turned 13. :D

11. Way back when they use to keep you three days in the hospital after having
a baby, my roommate had a twelve pound baby boy. She had a C-section and then pulled her stitches out by lifting the baby, twice. They finally wouldn't let her lift the baby anymore. She was still in the hospital when I left with a 6lb, 7oz baby boy.

12. Hurts just to see that! My first was 7lb 3oz and the second
was 7lb 8oz. Five ounces was HUGE!

My roommate (on my second child) had a 10lb plus baby. He was heavily jaundiced with some other complications.
